VALETINE’ DAY: CHRISTIANS STAND1 John 2:15–17; Ephesians 4:20 - 24Valentine’s Day is one of the modern day festivities that millions of people celebrate all over the world. Millions of heart-shaped cards and boxes of chocolates are given as gifts, and even churches have Valentine parties on this so-called “Day of Love.” In schools, from pre-school and kindergarten on up, children draw names from a box and exchange heart-shapes notes which “pair off” the children and is said to be “all in fun.” People of all ages get into the act, and the words that are heard everywhere on that day are, “Be My Valentine.” Surprisingly, many youths never question the origin of the celebration that they involve themselves with. Unfortunately many so called “Christian youths” join in this unscriptural event every February 14th without considering how the Almighty God of Heaven feels about their activities.Have you ever ask the following questions about the Valentine’s Day? What is the origin of this unusual day? Why is it marked qwith the color red? Where did the heart shape pierced with an arrow come from, and what does it mean? Is this world cherished event commanded by God, does it glorify Him?This is a Satanic covered up event that appeal to the lust of flesh, lust of eyes and pride of life. It is ungodly and unscriptural celebration that has no root in the bible and was never celebrated in the early church. Jesus said, "Love not the world!" Youths indulging in Valentine Celebration are not only practicing idolatry but also promoting it.Day:ItsDefinitionandOriginJeremiah 10: 2, 3Valentine’s Day is a feast celebrated on the 14th February of every year in many countries of the world. It has become a very popular feast involving the youths especially. It is said to be associated with “love”. However, many youths are ignorant of the origin. St. Valentine’s Day is a “whitewash” perverted customs and observances of pagan gods and idols by “Christianizing” it.
