Concert photography can be a great way to capture amazing memories and create stunning photos! Here are some more tips to help you get the most out of your next concert photography:

🔅 Use a tripod or monopod. This will help you keep your camera steady and reduce camera shake. (But do not restrict your self to on position)

🔅 Use a fast shutter speed. This will help you freeze the action and avoid blurry images.
Don't be afraid to experiment! Get creative and try different settings and angles.

🔅 Lastly, enjoy the concert, this would help you connect to the performer which in turn gives you the drive to take more amazing photographs of the performer.

Here is another tip to help you with your next Concert Photography.

🔅 Bring extra batteries or attach a vertical battery grip to your camera and bring along extra memory cards (Have at least two memory cards to work with). You don't want to miss out on any shots because you ran out of power or storage space!

🔅Look for unique angles. Try to capture the energy of the crowd or focus on the performers. If you have access to get on stage, don’t be shy, get on stage and use that as an advantage in getting amazing shots.

Sometime last year I was officially shooting at a concert in .
Throughout my 8 years of being a professional photographer I have indulged in different types of photography and one of my favorite is concert photography, WHY?

I love challenges, yes, concert photography is challenging and not to be taken lightly, there are key tips I have come to learn by my self through practice and I’ll be sharing a few with you in this post and the next two.

🔅 Use a very good lens.
You want your camera to be able to take in as much light as possible to create detailed and sharp images. Use lenses with a wide aperture, as wide as F1.2, F1.8, F2.

🔅Set your “Drive mode” (For Canon users) “Release mode” (For Nikon users) to Continuous shooting. Doing this gives you the power to freeze frames fast hence not missing a single moment, the only down side is that you might end up with 1000 photographs to select from 😆

TIP;
You need the image to be sharp, so you will have to set your aperture to between f/4 to f/8 and a shutter speed of 1/200th if handheld and 1/15th on a tripod.

What is Consistency to you?

To make it simple, just be you and keep being you. That’s the simplest way to define consistency.

Over the years I discovered that trends come and go, which influences a person to act a certain way for a certain period.
It’s not bad to follow trends but while you do so, don’t lose your identity to the trend, instead make use of the trend in your own way.

And note that consistency is beyond merely being frequent.

Tip on how to get a sharp image with the eyes of the subject in focus.

This is best achieved by setting the AF point over the eyes – either by selecting the point nearest to the eye, or using the sensitive central point, then locking focus by half pressing the shutter button and recomposing.

Prior to my last post, I would be answering a question, which is why you need your subject to make eye contact with the lens when taking a portrait.

The eyes captivate and draws the attention of a viewer to an image. Although it isn’t compulsory it is powerful in any image.

In the next post I’ll be sharing a tip on how to take a sharp image with the eyes of the subject in focus.
