*WEEKLY REPORT ON THE ACTIVITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT*

The week under review was marked by a series of strategic engagements, community-focused initiatives, political responsibilities and landmark developmental interventions by the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. From strengthening security and political cohesion to advancing education and community development, the week reflected the administration’s continued commitment to purposeful leadership and sustainable development.
*SUNDAY*
The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, joined other stakeholders at the launch of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s monumental coastal highway works and bridge rehabilitation project.
The project, which includes the commencement of service lanes and secondary drainage systems along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, represents a significant milestone in the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to expand infrastructure and improve connectivity along the nation’s coastline.
*MONDAY*
In furtherance of efforts to strengthen unity and cohesion within the party, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa participated in the engagement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos East Reconciliatory Committee held at Kosofe Local Government.
The meeting provided an avenue for stakeholders to address internal concerns, promote understanding and foster greater cooperation among party members, with emphasis on strengthening the party ahead of future political engagements.
*TUESDAY*
A significant milestone was recorded in Ibeju-Lekki as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, officially inaugurated the Ibeju-Lekki Community Security and Intelligence Network (CSIN) at the MOPOL 49 Barracks.
The community-based security initiative is designed to strengthen intelligence gathering, improve community-level security coordination and complement the existing security architecture across the seven wards of the Local Government.
On the same day, the Executive Chairman hosted the Conference of 376 APC Ward Chairmen across Lagos State. In his engagement with the party leaders, he charged them to remain consistent, committed and steadfast in their responsibilities, particularly in preparation for the 2027 elections.
*WEDNESDAY*
In his capacity as Chairman of the Conference 57 League of Chairmen, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa continued to discharge his responsibilities in providing leadership within the league, while also attending to other official engagements and responsibilities of the Local Government.
The day further reflected his continued involvement in matters requiring coordination, collaboration and collective leadership among the various local government administrations.
*THURSDAY*
Another landmark moment was recorded in the education sector as Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa officially launched the simultaneous construction of twin Next-Generation Smart Schools at Okegun and Awoyaya.
The initiative represents a major intervention in public primary education within Ibeju-Lekki, with the schools designed to provide children across the Local Government with modern, technology-driven and conducive learning environments.
The commencement of the two projects simultaneously underscores the administration’s commitment to expanding access to quality education and building infrastructure that responds to the needs of children in Ibeju-Lekki.
*FRIDAY*
The ancient town of Lagasa welcomed a new traditional ruler as the Lagos State Government formally presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeleke Ayinde Nasir, the new Alajasa of Lagasa.
Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa congratulated the new Royal Father on his ascension to the throne and urged him to use his position to promote peace, unity, community development and the collective interests of his people.
The occasion further reinforced the importance of traditional institutions as partners in fostering stability, development and peaceful coexistence within communities.
*CONCLUSION*
The week was a reflection of purposeful leadership and a clear commitment to the development of Ibeju-Lekki. From strengthening the Local Government’s security architecture and promoting political cohesion to advancing education through the construction of Next-Generation Smart Schools and supporting community leadership, the activities of the Executive Chairman demonstrated a balanced approach to governance and development.
As the administration continues to pursue the objectives of the SHIEELD Agenda, the focus remains firmly on initiatives that deliver meaningful impact, strengthen communities and create a better future for the people of Ibeju-Lekki.
