Kebbi Government to rehabilitate, modernise Birnin Kebbi Central Motor Park at N2.9b

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has approved the sum of N2.9b for the rehabilitation and modernization of Birnin Kebbi central Motor Park to AMIJAPP Nigeria Limited.

The project document was signed this Friday in Birnin Kebbi by the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. AbdULLAHI Umar Faruk and the Managing Director of the Company, Mr. Salami Pious Aminu.

The roject is expected to be completed in the next twelve months.

Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Abdullahi Umar Farouk at a brief ceremony assured the people of state of a quality job which would mark total departure from the previous substandard projects executed in the past.

Amongst the features of the modernization, the commissioner disclosed that asphalt would be provided, besides putting in place perimeter fence, gates, stalls, offices for the NURTW as well as open gallery and restaurant amongst many others.

Engr Farouk pointed out that the Governor within few months in office had taken the state to the bigger heights and with the new motor park project which was a gateway to the state, Governor Idris remained a dependable leader.

Speaking shortly after the ceremony the State Chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers, Atiku Aliyu Mai Mai Gwandu said the union was grateful to the state government for coming to their aid because they would soon be amongst the league of unions with befitting motorparks.

Also speakung, the Managing Director, Salami Pius Aminu said his company would use its expertise and experience to put in place a standard motor park that will stand the test of time beside completing the project within the stipulated time specified in the terms of contract.

Kebbi Deputy Gov. Condoles with the SSG Over Death of his Younger Sister, Late Hauwa'u Bala

The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi, has condoled with the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafidan Yauri over the death of his younger sister, Hajiya Hauwa'u Bala Tafida who died after a protracted illness.

The Deputy Governor conveyed the condolence message through his Press Secretary, Mallam Murtala M. Gotomo and made available to newmen in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

Senator Umar described the death of Hajiya Hauwa'u as a great loss not only to her immediate family and people of Yauri local government but a significant loss to the entire people of Kebbi State.

He prayed Allah to grant the deceased Aljannah Firdausi, forgive her shortcomings and beseeched Allah to give her family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Late Hauwa'u, who died at the age of 50 after a protracted illness, is survived by her husband, Alhaji Adamu Sifawa, four children and her relatives.

Chairman Kebbi PWA, Board Members and Officials visits four Emirs of the state in preparation for Hajj 2024

Earlier in November 2023, the Chairman Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alh. Faruku Musa Yaro (JAGABAN GWANDU) pay a special visit to the 4 Emirs in the state, HRH the emir of Gwandu and Chairman council of chiefs, Muhammad Iliyasu Bashar, CON, HRH the emir of Argungu, Samaila Muhammad Mera, CON, HRH the emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi, CON and HRH the emir of Zuru, Gen. Muhammed Sani Sami ll Rtd, CON .

The purpose of the visit was to introduce to the royal fathers the newly appointed board chairman and members and reminded them the main activities of the Agency. He also briefed them the preparations for hajj 2024 put in place so far by the board.

In his speech the chairman seek for their blessings and good will to the board. He also solicited for their maximum cooperation which is vital in ensuring the success of all the preparations.

On their response, the royal fathers congratulated the appointees and wished them a successful tenure. They also proclaimed their hundred percent support and cooperation to ensure that all the set aims are realized.

The Honorable Minister of Budget and economic planning mourns Sheikh Giro Argungu....

The honorable Minister for Budget and Economic Planning Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, CON mourned the death of renown Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu who passed away on Wednesday, 6th September, 2023 at the Federal Medical Center, Birnin Kebbi after a brief illness.

The Minister extended his deepest condolence to HRH, the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera CON, the deceased's family and the entire Muslim Ummah over the great loss.

He described the death of Famous Islamic Cleric as a great loss not only to his immediate family but also to people of Kebbi State, Nigeria and entire Muslim Ummah.

The Minister prayed to Allah the Almighty to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus and give his family, people of Kebbi State and Muslim Ummah the fortitude to bear the loss.

Late Abubakar Giro was a famous Islamic preacher in Africa under the umbrella of JIBWIS.

Aged 71, the Late Sheikh Giro survived by four wives, many children and grand children.
