Mona Lisa touches on thesensitive issue of mental illness. It all begins with years of over protection of Lisa by her mother Mona after the death of her father when she was seven.Lisa, not so naive and innocent, suffers froma debilitating mental illness caused by years of emotional abusebut still, ethereal and beautiful 20 years later. Mona, famous psychiatrist specialized in s*x therapy, is veryattached to her daughter and her mansion. Now drained physically and emotionally by her daughter's compulsive behavior, she plays Lisa's game and goes along with her when necessary. Under these circumstances, Mona's past catches up to her. With mother and daughter characters challenged, what seems as an apparent norm takes a new turn when they decide to rent three rooms of their mansion to complete strangers. Yet, another roller coaster of emotions, however worthy?
