Does a Picture really tell a thousand words?

The answer is yes. The reason is simple. Pictures can pass across information which we cannot pass across through the use of mere words. They can be the window to the lives of those in it; they can show us a life story at a glance. That is why family portraits survive those in it, and is referred to over the passage of the years. That is why some people take the pains to record their histories pictorially. . . because pictures become frozen in time; they become a still that cannot be erased. They are windows that helps us cast a glance back into the passage of Time itself.

And that’s why our very own Ofikhenual Charles emerged a finalist in the ongoing Award (largest photography competition in the world) in the fashion category, his photograph was selected out of 700,000 entries from 100k photographers in 150 countries.

His stories told the story of a people, of . His created a narrative. The news has even been picked up by Newsweek.
