YOUTHS TAKE THE LEAD AS CALLS INTENSIFY FOR SENATOR SA’IDU AHMAD ALKALI TO CONTEST GOMBE GOVERNORSHIP

Calls have continued to intensify for the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Senator Sa’idu Ahmad Alkali, to contest for the position of Governor of Gombe State in the 2027 general elections.

The calls are coming from various groups of individuals, private organisations, and the general public across Gombe State, with youths in particular taking the lead in urging him to contest. Many young people across the state have described him as tested and trusted.

Supporters highlight his remarkable and unmatched contributions during his time as a Senator, noting that few—if any—have achieved what he accomplished. His tenure was marked by extensive infrastructure development, youth-focused empowerment programmes, job creation, and people-oriented projects that positively impacted communities across the state.

Transport Minister Directs NRC on the nation's railway Safety and efficiency

The Honourable Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali, has directed the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to intensify reforms across the nation’s rail network for efficiency purposes.

This follows recent public feedback, pointing to sectoral developments and the need for an overhaul.

The Minister acknowledged the ongoing challenges experienced within the railway sector and appreciated Nigerians for their constructive input.

Over recent weeks, passengers have noted their concerns through media reports, community fora, highlighting their daily passenger experiences as they try to board.

Senator Alkali affirmed that the concerns of passengers have given a clear, insightful, and deeply valuable perspective on the safety, reliability, and growth of Nigeria’s rail system.
