Flowers, Death & Depression - Season 1: The Joy of Spring
On march 2020 I received a bouquet of flowers that I still posses and keep shooting every quarter or so.
Was one of the activities was keeping me active during such time of introspection and death around me, it gave me an excuse to do something.
At the same time, it became a cathartic experience: I found myself about to throw them after a couple of weeks, it made sense to discard them after their initial beauty was gone; the same way we discard people that doesn't suit society, whilst we consider ourselves an example of what's "normal".
Although that their colour, intensity and vibrance was gone, there was indeed still beauty in them, the same way there's beauty in those that don't fit the rules society has imposed.
This is a study on mental health, depression, but specially solitude.
The Joy of Spring are the pictures of how everything started.
