Here are the 5 biggest lessons I’ve learned while helping female founders in the Netherlands find their visual voice:
1. I’m your Artistic Director first, Photographer second.
My job isn’t just to show up and click a button. I’m here to empower you, lead the vision, help you make the right choices ( for location, outfits, props…) and make sure you feel like yourself in the process.
2. The magic is in the (intentional) prep. 📝 I’m a marketing nerd for a reason! The strategy happens long before the camera comes out. From our deep-dive questionnaire to scouting the perfect location and coordinating your outfits - this preparation is the ‘secret sauce’ that lets you show up and just... breathe.
3. The ‘in-between’ moments are the gold. ✨
You know those moments where you’re fixing your hair, laughing at a joke, or looking away for a split second? That’s where your true energy lives. My favorite shots are rarely the posed ones; they’re the ones where you’ve forgotten the camera is even there.
4. A photoshoot is just a long conversation (with a camera involved). ☕️ I am chatty and warm so my sessions are relaxed, and deeply supportive. We spend our time connecting and chatting - because when the pressure to ‘perform’ is gone, your passion finally has room to shine through. I’m not just taking photos; I’m creating a space for you to be seen.
5. The ‘I’m not photogenic’ lie. 🥺
This is the big one. Almost every woman I work with starts our call by telling me she hates being in front of the lens. It breaks my heart because usually, they’re just carrying a ‘bad’ version of themselves in their head. Part of my work is helping you unmask that fear and giving you a gallery that makes you fall in love with yourself all over again.
