Translucent layers of sunrise

Op mijn 24e ging ik voor het eerst buiten Europa op reis, samen met mijn zus, naar Azië. De drukte, geuren en de cultuur, zo anders dan wat ik gewend was. En de natuur, magisch mooi. Het was een cultuurschok, juist bij dit land, maar dat maakte de reis zo leerzaam en verrijkend. In foto 2 een kleine hint. Heb je een idee welk land dit is?

I have been to this city a few times, but never to this viewpoint before... Luckely I did this time because what a beautiful view of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge 😍

Op deze foto staan mijn vriendinnen Nohemi en Hanneke. We kennen elkaar uit Amsterdam, waar ik zo'n 14 jaar heb gewoond. Met Nohemi heb ik heel wat plekken in Amsterdam gefotografeerd, meestal tijdens zonsopkomst en ondergang, ook al was dat zomers heel vroeg. Wat mij vooral is bijgebleven is de periode van de lockdown vanaf 2020. Amsterdam was toen zo stil. Magisch om er toen rond te lopen, en de grachtenpanden te zien. Inmiddels woon ik niet meer in Amsterdam, en ik mis onze fotografie uitjes. Daarom extra speciaal dat ze dit jaar een weekje op vakantie waren in Friesland. En natuurlijk gingen we zonsopkomsten fotograferen, in Friesland.

Traveling with only hand luggage can be a challenge, especially if you also want to take a drone and camera with you. I limited myself to just a camera body and one lens, the 16-35, and a drone... my tripod didn't come with me. For this photo, a tripod would be very useful because of the longer shutter speed, and any vibrations can cause a blurry photo... But with a higher ISO 400 and a steady hand I managed to take the photo 👏 Happy with the result!

Sunrise at Gili Air, Indonesia. This photo consists of several vertical photos, which I then stitched together so that the entire island is in the photo. I took the photos with my drone manually, so really happy that the stitching was successful 😍 happy with the result! Thanks to 🙏🏻

Singapore at night.

After a long flight we arrived in Singapore, where we stayed one night before flying to Bali. It's my fourth time in this city, but the first time for just one night, which was fine because I've already seen the city and its highlight af few times.

After arrival we go to Gardens by the Bay where there is a light show several times in the evening, each performance lasting a wonderful 15 minutes.

Even if you are in Singapore for a few hours check out the layover tours from Changi airport. Because this city has a lot to offer and is definitely recommended for just a stopover or for several days.
