In any case, they have become a staple in many a swimmer's open-water-swim-kit-bag.

Has this happened to you? You’ve received a text message, a WhatsApp, a DM of sorts and you feel immense pressure to answer it immediately. Because, if you don’t, then what won’t the other person think? They need that quick response, right? And yet, you notice that all this texting and all the ...

Sunsets 🌅 are gorgeous almost anywhere. Tirol/ Tyrol treats us to so many nice ones. It's probably the afternoon build-up of pretty clouds 🌥 that allows the light to scatter and the colors to cycle through the rainbow 🌈.

Plus, pine trees 🌲 have the cutest silhouettes.

I'm always compelled to grab my camera and catch those sunsets. I'll even let my evening coffee ☕️ get cold to do so 😱.

Bruce has thought work down I would say.
Your thinking determines so, so much.

Subconsciously you are always going to try and prove your own thoughts right.

Thinking you can't do it.... well chances are you probably won't.

Ever heard of the saying? :
"Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're probably right."

That's how your mind works.

So it's important to sift through your beliefs and root out those that aren't serving you. Try to replace them with things you want to believe about yourself and let the magic happen.

Bruce was onto something. I'm telling you.

If you are a multipotentialite or scanner, I want to offer just one of many beliefs you may want to adopt: "I can quickly get to the bottom of many different things. Thanks to my diverse interests I can make connections between seemingly unrelated matters."

His royal Rustykins getting his extra cute paws wet.

I always joke that I love being in places where the water actually "flows".
Now I know that in the Netherlands the water in the rivers has a deceptive flow rate too.
For sure, everyone always hopes for a good flow rate when participating in the open water swim, as the current makes the swimmers swim faster than they ever thought possible.

Here in the mountains though, when you hear the water roar and you see the foam, it's just too pretty.
Put a handsome dog in that water and well, perfection 😊🤩.

And then you realize you even brought the big camera and can take a proper photo... triple win.

Going on walks in the mountains to me is one of the best things out there.
I get injured a lot though. Uncooperating knees and whatnot. So now, I build up to longer hile more consciously. It takes me a couple of days and I am okay with that. I don't have to run a marathon right out of the gate.

In this pic is my neighbor and friend, who actually has run a marathon and is much faster on mountain trails than I am. Yet she still chooses to come on walks with me. We each walk at our own pace and she waits up for me at intersections. I love her for it. I don't have to pretend to be anyone I am not and I get to sneak a peek at how she picks her steps and learn something from it.

We both love photography, so we'll take longer on most walks because we stop and take pictures and we actually get to have pictures of ourselves on walks.

You can tell whose pace Rusty prefers... Right on her heels like a true blue heeler.

Here's another thing. My neighbor isn't a big fan of dogs. As a triathlete, she's been bitten by dogs both whilst running and biking, and yet she always assumes I am bringing Rusty and accommodates for him.

Nature and friends who'll accept you for who you are. Two pretty powerful things.

Raise your hand if you love "Kung Fu Panda". 🖐🏻🐼

Disney movies. All the good stuff I would have missed had I not had kids. As a reminder to you and myself: you don't have to have an excuse to watch the children's movies. They're so much fun 😃.

The questions our furry black and white Kung Fu friend ask are shot, to the point, and not too difficult. Do you know the answer though?

In the first pages of the book "The Gifted Adult" the author, Mary-Elaine Jacobsen, says of her experience counseling hundreds of gifted people: "Although most of them appear to be navigating life with considerable success, the inner story is one of lost identity".

Bammm, well that sure resonated. I think one of the first things I said when I burned out or maybe bore out at work a year or so ago was: "I don't even know who I am anymore".
It turns out, a lot of gifted people run into this.
Who would have thunk, huh?

When we first met Rusty's dad, he impressed us with his athleticism. The kids and I were beyond impressed with how high he could launch himself into the air from a standstill.

Rusty takes after his dad. One huge chunk of compact muscle and always reminding us both to play and that the world is your playground.

Unfortunately, the Netherlands has such a high dog density that we don't get to take him off leash too often. When we do... he jumps!

Apparently this is my flying face when I don’t know someone’s taking my picture. Or maybe I was about to call the tower on the radio and that’s why I look funny?

It was a lovely flight with a colleague and the first time flying over the European Patent Office (➡️➡️) since there’s water in the building’s pond. Too bad no flags were flying.

A visit to Holland’s most famous windmills at Kinderdijk (➡️) and a greased landing (➡️)at EHRD.

Thanks K for the fun day!

➡️Rusty was just happy to have me back and get his cuddles.
