Grutto in de Oostpolder bij het Zuidlaardermeer op een mooie zonnige mei avond. Met de witwangsterns en een leuke zwarte ibis als afsluiter.

A black-tailed godwit in the Oostpolder near the Zuidlaardermeer on a beautiful sunny May evening. Together with the whiskered terns and a nice glossy ibis to finish the evening.

Witte kwikstaart kwam even mooi poseren voor de hut van de Breebaartpolder. Mooie kans om hem even goed op de foto te zetten.

A white wagtail briefly posed nicely in front of the hide at the Breebaartpolder. A great opportunity to capture it well on camera.

After a decent break, I decided to go out again to look for birds to watch, photograph, and film. I’m always searching for birds of prey in the agricultural fields of East Groningen. The Hen Harrier is my all-time favourite bird, and I got very excited when this beautiful adult male came flying towards my car, hunting along the side of the road.

It was really fun photographing the incomming gannets to their nests. They were so close, I had to zoom out quite a bit to get them in the frame. I like how you can see the cool pointy tail which contributes to its aerodynamic design for high-speed dives.
