‘Wow, wow, wow! This is just fantastic. We’ve played the slideshow five times in a row. You’ve captured our family so wonderfully well. I mainly felt pride and happiness. And as a Mum I could also feel my heart aching, seeing one of my daughters not feeling well that day. Captured in such an emotional way. Exactly like it was that day.’

Above the wonderful feedback I received after sending through this slideshow of some of the pictures I have taken during a ‘half a day in the life’-shoot. Such a relaxed, warm and fun family. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the affection between all of them and capturing their emotions and daily life.

Gebruik je smartphone eens om kunst mee te maken!

In het weekend van 17 en 18 oktober geef ik samen met Nicoline van Artie Farty en Mugjes een workshop smartphone fotografie voor kinderen van 7-12 jaar. Er zijn nog wat plekjes vrij!

Children born of fairy stock
Never need for shirt or frock,
Never want for food or fire,
Always get their heart’s desire:
Jingle pockets full of gold,
Marry when they’re seven years old.
Every fairy child may keep
Two strong ponies and ten sheep;
All have houses, each his own,
Built of brick or granite stone;
They live on cherries, they run wild–

HONDENTRIMSALON HET HOFJE tells the story of a dog grooming salon in Haarlem where you can have your dog washed, blow-dried, manicured, clipped and plucked. I often choose black and white over colour, but Het Hofje just had to be photographed in colour. A behind-the-scenes look at a wonderful and vibrant place.

SISTERHOOD is a series of photos about the bond between two sisters. A very special bond. As you don’t choose a sister, like you do with a friend. But you do spend a lot of time with her. Especially during times of COVID-19. Which is exactly when I’ve tried to create an image as realistic as possible of two sisters who spend their days together. They laugh, they fight, they play, they get irritated with each other... Days filled with emotions.
