On the final operational day of the Japan fighter tour, there was once again plenty of variety on Misawa. The wind was coming from a different direction than the day before, so there were new opportunities for different photos. As a bonus, an F-15 from Chitose and an F-16 from Osan also briefly passed by.

On Monday, we returned to Misawa and had a great day with a nice variety. We were pleasantly surprised to also see a few WW F-16s; most were on deployment in the Middle East or had already left awaiting the F-35. At the end of the day, things got a bit tense when we encountered a major earthquake and the risk of a tsunami near Hachinohe. However, we handled it smoothly together, and everyone was completely fine.

RIAT 2026 is cancelled. All those that have booked the bus trip to the show on Sunday and Sunday/Monday will be refunded, You have been sent an email about this as well.

We’re very sorry to let you know RIAT will not be taking place this year.

We know how much the event means to so many of you—our visitors, volunteers, partners, and the wider RIAT community. We fully recognise how disappointing this news will be.

The whole team at Douglas Bader House, and across the wider organisation, has worked tirelessly over the past 10 months to bring this year’s show to life. We have had to take this difficult decision following extensive discussions with the Royal Air Force and the United States Air Force regarding uncertainty over access to RAF Fairford, given the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

We’ll be in touch again by the end of May with details regarding your RIAT26 tickets. At that point you will be offered three options:

· Roll over your tickets to RIAT27
· Request a full refund
· Donate the value of your ticket to the RAF Charitable Trust
