Romantic dress with lace inserts, puff sleeves and a pretty elasticated closure with round buttons. 🤍🌿

This Burda dress had been on my to-sew list for quite some time. And as soon as I found this beautiful light green and white checked fabric, everything just fell into place!

The fabric is slightly sheer, so I decided to skip the facings and fully line the dress instead. I added a strip of lace to the sleeves and hem, and lined both the bodice and skirt.

My absolute favourite details are the beautiful puff sleeves and the round buttons with ribbon loops — such pretty little details that really make this dress special. ✨

Fit:
I made a size 38 and overall, the fit is very good. However, because of the many gathers in the sleeves, the armhole feels a little snug. For my next dress using this pattern, I’ll adjust this by making the armhole of the bodice slightly larger.

Romantic details, soft colours and a few little details that make all the difference. 🤍🌿

This Burda dress had been on my to-sew list for quite some time, and when I found this beautiful light green and white checked fabric, I knew exactly what I wanted to make.

The fabric is slightly sheer, so instead of using the facings, I decided to fully line the dress. I lined both the bodice and the skirt, which also gives the dress a lovely, clean finish.

But it’s the details that I love most. ✨

The voluminous puff sleeves are finished with a delicate strip of lace, which I also added to the hem of the skirt. The lace adds just the right amount of romance without taking away from the beautiful checked fabric.

And then there are the round buttons with elasticated loop closures 🤍 I made the little loops myself, creating a delicate closure that really complements the romantic style of the dress. Such a small detail, but one of my absolute favourites!

Here’s the result of my new top! Embroidered cotton from .be using the pattern from 3/2026, model 102.

I made the top one size larger than the size chart because I thought the ease allowance in this pattern was too small, and this fabric has a fairly loose drape, so it’s also more comfortable to wear.

I also finished the sleeves with lace and cut the sleeve pattern in half so that the flowers continue down the back as well.

I also drew in a V-neckline myself and finished all the seams with bias tape so that the lace would show nicely. **en

A paper-pieced dress based on the pattern KM2307 originally had a box pleat on the back panel. I removed it so that the paper-pieced pattern from would stand out more beautifully.

The flower pattern on the front is a free pattern
from Pinterest. I also added ruffles to the sleeves, lined the skirt, and sewed loops into the waistband. I made the belt from the last scraps of cotton I used for the paper piecing. Another nice detail is the belt buckle, which I covered myself with a scrap of fabric.

Waarom groeit mijn reparatiestapel elke maand weer?! 😅
Gerepareerd deze maand: na een groot project zoals mijn lente jas. Werk ik altijd even mijn vermaak en repareer stapel weg voordat ik aan een nieuw project begin. Gek genoeg is er altijd weer een nieuwe stapel die klaar ligt elke maand.

Maar ik zag dat de een nieuw blad heeft uitgebracht. Met super veel leuke
Repareer tips. Die ga ik bij mijn directe familie toch maar eens rond laten slingeren haha. 😜

Maar alsnog ben ik een groot voorstander van kleding repareren. En doe het nog steeds met grote liefde.

Ready for sunny days ☀️

This dreamy boho dress is made from a gorgeous silk I picked up last summer in Paris, couldn’t be more perfect for this pattern from 💛

I had to puzzle a bit over the tunnels and layered ruffles, but figured out the best way: sewing the tunnels first, then adding the ruffles on top so they gather beautifully with the elastic. Totally worth it!

Finished it off by lining the dress and adding little beads to the ties for that extra boho touch ✨

Ready for the sun ☀️ ! A cute pattern from Patrones magazine. A boho dress made of silk. I bought this fabric last summer while on vacation in Paris. And I found it
Perfect. I had to figure out the tunnels and the ruffles sewn on top of them. In the end, I sewed the tunnels first and then sewed the ruffles on top so they pleat nicely with the elastic.

Afterward, I lined the entire dress and added cute beads to all the strings for a little extra boho effect.
