It was a great first day of Wereldhavendagen Rotterdam (World Port Days) in Rotterdam. With the support of Luchtverkeersleiding Nederland and under the supervision of Ministerie van Defensie, DDC - Smart Inspections, together with DronePort Rotterdam, demonstrated drone services to a broad audience and took some great shots of some of the many demonstrations given by organisations active in the Port of Rotterdam. Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September, we will continue to demonstrate some of the many use cases for UAV's in modern port operations. Will we see you there?

During a sunny test day and somewhat rainy U-Space Demo Day organised by DronePort Rotterdam and Port of Rotterdam , Dutch Drone Company - Smart Inspections shot some video's to share more use cases of Heavier Load Carrying drones. A sight we can definitely get used to!

U-space management solution Airwayz implemented by Port of Rotterdam, integrating traditional airspace users, vessel movements, authorised and unauthorised UAV flights in one digital airspace management solution is a real game changer for the industry.

A special thanks to Heerema ROTCYP Marine Contractors for making the Thialf crane vessel available, ST Engineering Demo coming all the way from Singapore to demonstrate the UAV's already in operation in PSA Singapore, Ampelmann Operations for demonstrating the DJI Flycart, Avy for showing their VTOL solution, KRVE Rotterdam Boatmen for supporting the event, FlightOps.io for live demoing integration with Airwayz and AirHub for organising some, 'still exceptional' permits.

Great to work with new solutions to make UAV BVLOS flights (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) even more safe by mitigating air- and ground risks as much as possible. Using sim cards from KPN KPN especially set-up for UAV operations, our drones have great bandwidth, better coverage and higher priority on the mobile network.

With FlightOps.io integrated with Airwayz, DDC is able to plan and execute the best automated routes based on e.g. network coverage and airspace usage. Demonstrating BVLOS UAV flights DDC - Smart Inspections gains valuable information and experience in operating automated flights.

It's great to work with Port of Rotterdam, Gemeente Rotterdam, Gemeente Rotterdam stadsontwikkeling and Rotterdam Makers District that like to discover new aerial mobility possibilities, test social acceptance and think of new ways to legislate BVLOS operated flights more widely.
