Agcharapan & Bas - a Leiden love story✨

Heyy everyone! I’m still here 😀 it’s been a while since I’ve been active here on FB. A lot has been happening behind the scenes! Some amazing sessions that I yet have to share, some time off that I spent just enjoying the sun and life with my friends ☀️ every now and then I need a little break from social media, and I fully enjoyed this break. Now I’m ready to dive back in and share with you the beautiful love stories I get to capture, and can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to as well! 😊 how has everyone been?

Happy belated King’s Day!👑
In The Netherlands this is a public holiday that I spent strolling through the flea markets, eating orange sweets and drinking oranje bitter 🥃

One day late for Willem’s birthday I wanted to post a litte preview of this beautiful wedding that I sent out this week. This stunning location still gives me royal wedding vibes, even though the wedding party was very fun and laid back - probably nothing like a royal wedding would be like ;)

As a photographer, in order to create stunning photos you need a location that works with you and provides a beautiful background. This was definitely the case this time. I’m very happy I got to shoot here and capture this lovely ceremony of Nina and John in Hoorn.

I love love ❤️It is my job to capture love stories. And I believe we need it now more than ever. Because love always wins.
I am hosting two days of Mini Sessions at the beach and in the dunes to raise money for Ukraine.

How it works:
We meet at the beach at the agreed time slot and have a fun, relaxed photoshoot of 30 minutes. You will receive all the best photos from the session in High resolution and carefully edited. All proceeds (meaning every euro earned from this) will be donated towards a charity of your choice (there will be three organisations to choose from).

Anyone is welcome! Couples, families, friends and singles too!

Not gonna lie, I got a little emotional looking through those photos of Miera & Max’ wedding today.

Not just because it was such a beautiful day, but because it made me realise once more how lucky I am to get to capture such wonderful days full of love 🥲

“Can we bring a sleigh to the photoshoot?” Hell yes!

I absolutely love it when clients come up with fun and creative ideas for their session. While I’m completely happy to do all the planning/come up with ideas for you, I also enjoy it a lot when it can be a collaborative process.

To be honest, I never would've thought of sleighs to an elopement session - now I’ll definitely add that to my list for future winter sessions 🌄

What’s a fun object you would like to bring to a photoshoot?
For me, it would probably be a huge pizza 😋

✨Christmas photoshoot giveaway ✨

Since I had to move a few Mini sessions due to the rain to this Saturday 11th, I have a couple more spots available and would like to give one of them to someone who could really use this gift right now. Maybe someone who is struggling financially or/and who has had a really rough year.

Ho ho ho!🎅The Holiday Mini Sessions are back!☃️📸

After a couple of super fun days last year and soo much nice feedback and people asking me to bring them back, here they are again!

I figured we could all use a bit of covid-safe fun now that the days are getting darker again and we're heading towards Christmas.

I'm hosting two days of mini sessions in two of the most beautiful cities in the Netherlands - to use for your Christmas/holiday cards or simply as a lovely memory for you and your loved ones. It's for singles, couples, families, dogs...everyone is welcome. Bring your cosy blankets, mulled wine or just yourselves. We will go for a short walk through a part of the center and snap some candid photos along the way.

// Vroni & Steve // When your highschool friends are starting to have babies, you know you’re getting old 🥲

So much fun with these two who wanted a little memory of this special time but none of the typical kiss the belly-maternity photos.

Every couple has their own preferences and I totally get when people have this wish to keep it super casual. In this case I recommend going for my usual couples session where I make sure that it’s not all about the belly while it’s still visible in the photos.

What do you prefer? The ‘typical’ maternity sessions that really highlights the belly or something like this? 🤰

// Gabriela & Benjamin // Soo much happiness in these photos 💕 I certainly didn’t need to ask anyone to smile for camera! These two (and little Amelia) celebrated their registered partnership together with they’re closest family and friends in the Netherlands, and it was an honour for me to be part of it.

I met the two for the first time when Gabriela was still pregnant, got to take their family photos after Amelia was born and now capture this special day. It really warms my heart to see their journey and to be able to make sure they will always have these memories to treasure.

“But why should we have a photoshoot if it’s not for our wedding?”

Through my work I’ve been noticing how much that public opinion of ‘a relationship only deserves to be celebrated when they’re tying the knot’ is still ingrained in our society.

Why is it okay and encouraged to celebrate your love when you put a ring on each others finger, but not if you are wildly in love but are not planning on marrying at all or at this very moment?

I personally think that when you’ve found someone you want to spend your life with - or also just this moment of your life - that is worth celebrating in any way that you wish. And this can also include a photoshoot, to capture your love in a professional way (not just the phone selfies)

Look at Joslyn and Bogdan - These photos are memories of their love, a beautiful time in their lives that they will cherish and look back to forever - and that’s all that matters in my opinion ☺️

The ’official’ photos of family and friends are always interesting ones during a wedding! Placing them in the right location, checking the lighting and camera settings and most importantly - make them comfortable and interact in a way that makes the photos less stiff and more natural and fun. And all this while not really knowing anyone or being able to talk in detail through the shoot as with the couple.

This is why it is so important that there is a click between the bridal couple and the photographer - up until now all my wedding clients were so amazing and fun that I got along with their loved ones just as well 😊 This makes it so much easier to get that real smile on their faces.

Luckily I’m someone who’s naturally a little silly so I don’t mind saying some weird things to try and make you laugh.

The other day a message reached me from a guest who said that it was the first time she had a proper photo with her partner (who usually refuses) and that made me really happy ✨
