Beijing Parks

Beijing Parks Images by Eirik Johan Solheim www.silkfactory.com Why not get up real early and go to the parks when they open - together with the native Beijingers?

Strolling around beautiful gardens watching plants, ponds, small bridges, temples and - of course - all the interesting people exercising and improving various mental and physical skills - playing musical instruments, singing, playing cards and Chinese chess, reading, dancing and socializing in many other ways.

A boat rental at the east shore of the Beihai lake in the Beihai park on a windy day in spring. Blue water with waves caused by the wind and colourful pedal boats are seen in the foreground. In the background is the shore with tall weeping willow trees with long branches being blown by the wind. Beihai Park has been a public park since 1925.
