Dan André Photography

Dan André Photography Norwegian landscape photographer Dan is an up and coming landscape photographer from the east coast of Norway. So quiet, just myself and nature.

He started with photography summer 2009 using his wife’s camera. He very quickly fell in love with this hobby and after a few months he realized landscape was his field. Landscaping has become a greater passion of his than he ever could’ve imagined. Dan himself describes it this way: “Nothing else gives me the sense of peace and calmness than being on the shore alone with my camera at sunset. Land

scaping has given me many wonderful experiences. I’m quite fascinated by how photography has changed the way I view the world. All I see is light and possible compositions, everywhere I go. It’s like my eyes have been shut for the beauty of nature and now I can suddenly see in a way I have never seen before. And it truly is a blessing!”

After roughly three years behind the camera, Dan started writing articles for Landscape Photography Magazine among many other amazing landscape photographers. Dan's photos are displayed on many websites as wel as walls. He is still pretty new in the game, but he is sure that this is only the beginning!

- excited -

About an hour before the sunset I met these two lovely and highly enthusiastic russian (I think) girls. They where taking portraits of each other on the edge of the Pulpit Rock (remember: 604 meters down!), and one of them came up to me and asked a few questions about my equipment. And she really liked some of the images I showed her and asked me if I could take a picture of her and her friend.

I gave them my facebook adress, so I'm just waiting for them to ad me so I can send them this picture, which really makes me smile btw :)

- a path for brave men -

Where I live, I have to be constantly creative to be able to get good images. I have to work hard to arrange good compositions, and weather conditions are very important.
So for me, to be in a location like this, was an incredible experience. No matter where I turned, or where I stood, the possibilities where endless! On this spot, I stand with the majestic behind me.
I just couldn't believe how turquoise the fjord was - and how green the grass actually was. And no man made buildings or roads within eyesight. Not even people!
Beautiful. Peaceful.

- King Kong -

So this is the first image I upload from the top of . The view here was breathtaking and of some reason reminded me of the last king kong movie. Both the mood in the scene where King Kong sits on the top of his island enjoying the sunset, but also because I kind of think that this top on the right side remind me a little bit of Emire State Building ;) I picture the big monkey klimbing up to the top!
On the edge of the pulpit rock, where I stood when I captured this shot, the drop down was 604 meters. So that was quite a rush on a saturday night!

Thanks you all for your comments, emails and likes. It means very much to me if you chose to share my images with your friends also :)

- far far away -

A friend of mine and I have been planning a trip through southern Norway to for months. The trip has been cancelled four times because of rain, rain and rain. But this week-end the weather was perfect!
The nature we experienced on this trip was just amazing. A few hours of driving- and a totally new world reveals it self for us.
We passed many breathtaking vistas on our way, and this place was incredible.
I just had to jump over the barbed wire fence (!) to capture these two guys in front of the view.

I got a fair amount of good images on this trip, and I will post them all here. I wish you all an amazing week!

-Macroscape I-

I havn't been out for shooting landscapes quite some time now. I've done mostly portraits with children and such, but now I just had to get out.
I had trouble finding a good composition on the beach, so I decided to try something new. I went very low and this is probably the smallest scene I've ever composed, and my camera was laying on the ground to get the perspective I wanted. The sunset never exploded, but I like the result!
Sadly, I some how managed to loose my Lee filter holder on the trip (!), so I just ordered a new one from ebay. Well spent money dude... :/
I just cross my fingers I will get it in time before my trip in a few weeks! Because I'm going to this place!!! http://anewyorkeratheart.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/preikestolen-cliff1.jpg (random image from google)
