There is a moment underwater where gravity feels optional.
Not gone, but rewritten.

Working with Julie is precise and effortless.
Every movement is intentional. Nothing wasted.

In that space, movement becomes both resistance and surrender.
Everything slows down. Every detail is exposed.

Between falling and floating,
a different kind of gravity.

We went underwater to film a few scenes…
and created something we’ll never forget.

Some years ago, during the music video for her beautiful song Sister, we shot in open water on the west coast of Sweden. Cold, dark, and unforgiving.

Karin wasn’t comfortable going underwater. And the cold didn’t make it easier.

Still, she stayed, calm and present.

These images were planned—
but moments like this still can’t be forced.

Movement. Light. Silence.

Grateful we took the time to capture them 📸

We went underwater to film a few scenes…
and created something we’ll never forget.

Some years ago, during the music video for her beautiful song Sister, we shot in open water on the west coast of Sweden. Cold, dark, and unforgiving.

On International Women’s Day, it feels like a fitting moment to celebrate strength, creativity, and the women who continue to inspire the world around us.

Some years ago I had the opportunity to create these images in the water while collaborating with the visionary designer Iris van Herpen.

This project was also a collaboration with the amazing choreographer and dancer Julie Gautier and Behind the Mask Production.

Her Carte Blanche collection explores the resilience and power of women, presenting the female body as a force reclaiming beauty, identity, and freedom.

Van Herpen is known for merging haute couture with science, technology, and nature, often creating garments that resemble organic structures flowing like waves, marine life, or fluid energy.

For this project we explored how the body, the fabric, and the ocean could move together as one, suspended between surface and depth.

Some of these images were later featured in Vogue and also displayed at the Kunstmuseum Den Haag in the Netherlands.

Folded Snow

The wind writes quietly in white,
a memory of passing air.

Snow folds itself like a soft map of silence.
Corners bent, edges smoothed by wind.

Light drifts across its surface,
finding valleys to rest in.

Nothing rushes here.
Even gravity moves gently.

Folded snow is winter thinking out loud—
a language made of breath, pressure
and patience.

It doesn’t ask to be understood.
It simply waits
to be seen.

Somehow greater.Scenes like this capture the scale of the Nordic wilderness and the power of nature.

It arrives softly and long.
In pale skies, distant mountains,
a moon that reflects more than it gives.

Moments like these feel temporary,
as if the light is only passing through,
reminding us how vast everything really is.

Few experiences compare to this… being quietly accepted by a wild family of orcas in the cold fjords of northern Norway. Down there, it’s never about control — it’s about respect, presence… and trust.

This family was coming straight at me and when they swam away I thought, that's it. Just a minute later they all came back and I got a second chance to join them 🥰🐋
