“Shadows Over Vík”
This shoot was something special.
I had the chance to work with Daria—a striking presence, effortlessly embodying a dark, gothic aesthetic that’s both bold and poetic. Her style isn't just fashion—it's a statement. It's raw, expressive, and powerful, and it found a perfect home in the eerie, cinematic landscape of Vík, Iceland.
From the moment we started shooting on the black sands, it felt like everything lined up—the textures of her outfit flowing in the wind, the heavy skies, the haunting stillness of the place. We explored both natural and industrial backdrops: the volcanic beach, cracked roads, old tires, and worn metal. Each setting seemed to echo a part of her presence—fierce, untamed, yet graceful.
Daria didn’t just pose—she owned the frame. She brought intensity without effort, letting her style and energy fill the space. Her look was pure gothic drama, yet it never felt staged. Everything from the jewelry to the layers of lace to those platform boots told a story of someone unafraid to be fully herself.
A huge part of the flow and ease came from my assistant, Bella, who was absolutely on point throughout the shoot—reading poses, helping with adjustments, and keeping the energy high without ever forcing it. That kind of behind-the-scenes support is invaluable, and it showed in the results.
The weather couldn’t have been better for this aesthetic—moody, cool, just the right amount of gloom. It gave every image a weight, a sense of isolation and mystique that elevated the atmosphere beyond what you can plan for. These are the kinds of shoots I live for—not just pretty locations or stylish outfits, but real collaboration, where everyone's energy feeds the frame.
I’m truly happy with how this one turned out, and I hope Daria is too. These images carry more than just a visual—they carry a mood, a spirit, a feeling.
