This has to be the best surprise wildlife encounter I've ever had!
While looking to get a nice sundown shot of the Wooly Wagon reflected in the water of the Etang du Charrais (millpond for an old water powered saw mill) I heard a splash from the far bank and a beaver swam across right in front of me!

We sat in silence for a while and it briefly popped up a few more times chasing the fish.

What a fantastic, unexpected sight.

I always thought Cormorants were completely black until I saw them catching the sun on a recent walk along the peninsula of Alubuen beach to the lighthouse at its tip.

One last bit of wildlife spotting in Morocco was these Barbary Macaques, native to the Atlas mountain regions of North Africa though an introduced population exists in Gibraltar too which are the only free living wild primates in Europe.

The fantastic Ouzoud Waterfalls 🌈
Named after the historic water powered grinding stones at the top, Ouzoud means "grinding grain" in the Berber language.

And for my kayaking friends..... yes I think the lower fall goes.... not by me though! 😆 The rest of the river below is fun G4 pool drop too.

Footprints in the sand.
It was a wonder to see how quickly the wind filled in the footprints as well as the signs showing the constant shift of the dunes. Humans have a huge impact on this planet but when we are gone nature will take it back, it has all the time in the world. 🌍

Catching up with images from the last few weeks so the next few posts might be a bit muddled location wise.

The was something that drew my eye to the way the sunlight lit up the long grass in this overgrown grove of olive and palm trees.
