Pouring Water at the Big Mountain
While descending from Camp 2 on the north side of Mount Everest, my team and I faced a long and exhausting walk down.
During our climb, we had run out of hot water, and due to unstable weather conditions, we made the decision to descend for proper rest and to carefully plan our next move in the coming days.
On the way down, I found a simple yet powerful solution for drinking water. I began collecting water directly from the melting ice flowing from the mountain itself — fresh, untouched, and 100% natural.
In that moment, surrounded by ice and silence, I felt deeply connected to nature’s purity.
It is sad to realize that today’s generation rarely experiences such pure water in the cities, where it is often treated with chemicals and artificial processes to make it safe for consumption. Up there in the mountains, nature still provides in its rawest and most honest form.
Sometimes, the greatest luxury is not comfort — but purity.
