Nearly 90 young girls gathered at historical Itumbahal, Kathmandu, on Saturday for a mass Kumari Puja organized by Itumbaha: Misa Pucha. Dressed as Living Goddess Kumari, the girls took part in the sacred ritual seeking health, protection and prosperity.

Sithi Nakha (सिथि नखः), a cherished festival of the Newar community, was observed with the worship and cleaning of vital water sources, including wells, traditional water spouts, springs, ponds, and taps. Celebrated on the sixth day of the bright fortnight of Jestha, the festival symbolizes respect for water resources and marks the arrival of the monsoon season. Traditional delicacies such as (Wo:) and (Chatamari) were prepared and offered to ancestral deities as part of the celebrations.
