1 The First Comic Book: The first modern comic book is considered to be "Funnies on Parade" from 1933. It was a collection of reprinted comic strips and was given away as a promotional item by Procter & Gamble.
2 The Most Expensive Comic: "Action Comics #1" (1938), featuring the first appearance of Superman, is the most expensive comic book ever sold, fetching over $3 million at auction in 2014.
3 Comic Books Were Once Censored: In the 1950s, comic books in the U.S. faced intense scrutiny due to fears they were corrupting youth. The Comics Code Authority was established in 1954 to regulate content, leading to the removal of mature themes from many comics.
4 Batman’s Original Costume Was Red: In his earliest concept sketches, Batman wore a red suit with wings instead of a cape. His iconic look evolved into what we know today.
