Being at the parade yesterday was something truly special. The whole experience felt so wholesome - London was completely red. I was singing every chant with everyone around me, lost my voice, and ended the day absolutely shattered. Even ended up getting ill after, but it was all worth it. Celebrating it all with some amazing lads made the day even better. Moments like this don’t come around often, and I feel lucky I got to be part of it. Hopefully this long wait is just the beginning of a special journey for us.

And then we got to Blue Eye, simply beautiful.

The Blue Eye is one of those places that feels almost unreal when you finally see it up close. A natural spring with water so clear and so intensely turquoise it looks like it’s glowing from the earth.

They say the depth is at least 50 metres, but divers have never reached the bottom - the pressure is so strong that the water pushes upward at incredible force.

Standing there, watching the surface swirl like an actual eye, you get why it’s called Syri i Kaltër. A peaceful stop surrounded by forests, cold mountain water, and a bit of Albanian mystery.

Vlorë was one of those stops that surprised us in the best way. A colourful coastal city where bright buildings, palm‑lined streets and the deep blue Adriatic all blend together.

It’s easy to get caught up in the views, but the history here runs deep too - this is the city where Albania declared its independence in 1912, marking the start of a new chapter for the country.

Walking through Vlorë, you feel that mix of old and new, tradition and energy, all wrapped in colour. A quick stop on our journey south, but definitely one that stays with you.

We set off from Durrës toward our next stop, Sarandë - but couldn’t resist a few stops along the way. One of them was Vlorë, where our first visit was the Muradie Masjid. We prayed Dhuhr here, in a mosque that carries centuries of history. Built around 1537 during the Ottoman era and designed by the famous architect Mimar Sinan, it’s one of the oldest surviving mosques in Albania and a beautiful reminder of the city’s heritage.

The mosque has survived centuries - including Albania’s communist era, when many religious buildings were closed or destroyed. Muradie was one of the few that remained standing, a small but powerful reminder of faith and history in the heart of the city.

Getting up to Bovilla Lake was an intense drive, but the view from the top made every turn worth it. This turquoise reservoir sits between the Dajti mountains and supplies most of Tirana’s drinking water - pure beauty and purpose in one place.
