There are benefits to being out in the middle of the ocean, the stars and other celestial bodies align to deliver something spectacular. The total eclipse is passing, and the earths penumbra is leaving the moons face. Mars is shining quite brightly to the left, im feeling quite privaleged to see it. Shot with my NikonD810 with my 70-200 vr nikkor at full zoom. It was a real challenge to shoot this as the gentle rock of the ship and its engine vibrations kept threatening to ruin my focus, i had to rely on the great iso capabilities of my d810 and only 2 secs of exposure to get the shot I wanted.
