The rat race called social media is coming to an end for me. Over the past few months I’ve felt so disconnected with social media and pushing myself to post because “I have to”. But this week it all just slotted in for me and made sense. I was watching a fellow Christian business owner on YouTube and she was talking about the busyness of social media and how quickly it can distract us from our lives and what truly matters. And so I prayed about it, and really believe this next season for me is to move away from social media.

So what now:

I will be stopping posting on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok all together and instead once a month will be sharing some updated photos on Pinterest (this will become my portfolio space).

My website blogs will always be there for you to view and read my tips, tricks and see real elopements. But other than that this next season will be focused on my relationships with God, my family and my clients.

So this is goodbye for now on socials! My pages will stay up, but I won’t be checking them regularly at all so please don’t message here if you need me urgently.

As a New Zealand elopement photographer I would love to say I can manage to show every single couple who wants to travel New Zealand around, but the truth is my elopement packages are not designed for all couples…

These elopement packages are designed for couples who love travel, but who want a totally taken care of experience. Letting go of the reigns of planning, driving and keeping to a timeline and simply enjoy the day/week making memories! I specialise in sightseeing and exploring elopements where we adventure in one or more regions!

I offer two package types, one for the couples who just want one day fully dedicated to their adventure or my increasingly more popular 6 Day Multi-day Elopement where we spend 6 days + 2 jet lag days together in the South Island, basically having your own private tour guide who happens to take photos of the whole thing!

So if you’re a keen traveller and would love to elope in New Zealand, my elopements might just be the perfect option for you!

I realised I never actually shared my first self portrait under the Milky Way I took last August! And in excitement of the Milky Way season starting I’m here to share my fave from my little 10pm excursion to the Amberley Beach… and you know I’m not heading out there by myself I even convinced dad to sit in the car and wait for me while I took photos of God’s amazing sky!

I’m so excited too because I have some fun elopements coming up over the next 12 months and most want photos of New Zealand’s night sky in their wedding gear, how good!

B + H shared their first look in the early hours of their elopement day. During summer in New Zealand, sunrise is anywhere between 5:30-6:30am which meant getting up at 4am for hair and makeup so we could time the morning sunrise golden hour perfectly for their first look.

These two stayed at at one of the glorious huts allowing them to watch the lupines and lake out the large window. And for their first look we actually headed down just below their accommodation to the lake front along a patch of lupines.

I took B down about 15 minutes prior, giving him a moment to relax and enjoy the views whilst H got into her dress, (B had to this point never seen the dress including throughout their travel from America to New Zealand).

His reaction to being tapped on the shoulder by H was emotional, filled with joy and tears (these two are just so perfect for each other)!

And these are the moments from elopement days that count, the ones where couples can be present, no interruptions, just enjoying a moment (and even though everything was captured beautifully, I made sure to keep my distance so B + H could have a private moment together before we headed off to their ceremony across the lake).

This is where timeline planning is essential and when you work alongside me, your photographer and planner, we perfect the timeline allowing for time to slow down and be present!
