I’m so pleased to announce that a photo of mine that I entered into the Landscape category of the Sony Alpha Photography Awards has been shortlisted as a finalist, making the top 17! This is amazing to be included amongst such incredible photographers. I’m feeling humbled and emotional at just coming this far.

New Beginnings
While exploring the small forest in the gully at my parents’ new property in Tauranga, I came across this beautiful unfurling fern koru. Capturing its textured, golden layers unfolding in the morning light felt like the perfect symbol of a fresh start in a new place.

While visiting a quaint little cottage on the shoreline at Tata Beach in Takaka, I spotted this wild flower garden. Drawn to its weathered charm, I focused on this fading bloom, finding a quiet elegance in imperfection and the subtle, enduring grace of nature’s later stages.
