It’s with the heaviest heart that I share the passing of my amazing father, Bryan. The most kindhearted, hilarious, and warm person you’d ever meet. Everyone who met him loved him.

His favorite thing in the world was his grandkids. Anytime we were visiting, he would come home from a full day of work and get right into playing with them. Vrooming cars around on the floor with Niko, doing arts and crafts with Cora, throwing the baseball around the backyard with Max. It was his happy place to be with them.

I’m so grateful for having such a one-in-a-million person as a dad. I keep being reminded of the song we chose for our father-daughter dance at my wedding. “Nothing Can Change This Love” by Sam Cooke. Holding onto that sentiment, that even though he’s not physically here, I’ll carry his love, warmth and kindness with me forever. Love you always, Dad 🕊️❤️

Big brothers Leo + Logan were so keen to show me their new treehouse that had been put up since I last visited (photographing Logan’s newborn photos 4 years ago!!).

As a part of the ongoing fundraising efforts for my son's 12U baseball team, I'm auctioning off a family photoshoot (valued at $1250)!!

The kids on this team have been training so hard — in rain, wind, shine, they're out there putting in the hard work. They leave for Korea on June 23rd and we're all so proud of these awesome kids.

A wild & windy day with Carla and her crew — we walked along the beach and watched the windsurfers, then killed time at the playground before grabbing some ice cream.

I loved the calm, relaxed, flowy vibe of this session. The kids were happy because their parents were happy (that’s the secret to a chill session, btw! Just enjoy the uninterrupted time with your kids!)

Cyanotype tests and a poem by Ada Limón called The Raincoat:

“When the doctor suggested surgery
and a brace for all my youngest years,
my parents scrambled to take me
to massage therapy, deep tissue work,
osteopathy, and soon my crooked spine
unspooled a bit, I could breathe again,
and move more in a body unclouded
by pain. My mom would tell me to sing
songs to her the whole forty-five-minute
drive to Middle Two Rock Road and forty-
five minutes back from physical therapy.
She’d say that even my voice sounded unfettered
by my spine afterward. So I sang and sang,
because I thought she liked it. I never
asked her what she gave up to drive me,
or how her day was before this chore. Today,
at her age, I was driving myself home from yet
another spine appointment, singing along
to some maudlin but solid song on the radio,
and I saw a mom take her raincoat off
and give it to her young daughter when
a storm took over the afternoon. My god,
I thought, my whole life I’ve been under her
raincoat thinking it was somehow a marvel
that I never got wet.”
