As I mentioned earlier, I went on a photo workshop with Three Little Wishes Photography to Auckland Zoo last weekend. These are my favourites from the day out: a vast improvement on my previous zoo/wildlife photos, thanks mainly to expert guidance from Heather, our workshop tutor and self-proclaimed "bird nerd". This also explains the proliferation of bird photos in my selection.

I joined a very enlightening workshop at Auckland Zoo yesterday, run by Three Little Wishes Photography. My lack of interest in bird photography is widely known among my circle of photography friends, so imagine my surprise when I picked this as one of my favourites from the day out.

My portfolio images of the historic buildings known as the Old Smithy at my friend's family's property near Coromandel gained a Highly Commended in the Landscape category of the 2025 Ted's Camera Photographer of the Year.
And, even better news ... I'm headed back there to visit (with camera) this weekend. I hope the light is this glorious for the repeat visit.

A great achievement for "Nan's Dining Table". It was a Finalist in the Landscape & Environment category The Capture Awards 2025.
I'm thrilled about this result, especially since this photo was taken when I was stuck inside on a rainy and gloomy summer holiday day. It just goes to show, bad weather is no deterrent to a determined photographer.

The final top dog shot from our Dog Photo Walk at Auckland Botanical Gardens with Kirsten of Wort & Flea. This is Bear, still a puppy at eight months old, marching off with his rubber throw ring and a mouthful of freshly mown grass.
