Currently on-call for this gorgeous family that we did bump photos for a few weeks back 🤩

Super special also being my first repeat birth client 🥹 Who also had the fastest first birth that she had an unexpected home-birth and is the only client to date that I just didn’t make it on time for baby coming out! We still got lots of lovely golden hour photos which are always so special too, but you can bet your bottom dollar I’m sitting on the edge of my seat waiting on the call for her sibling 😅

Ok, I’m back for 2026!

Bit late to the party being almost mid February, but slow and steady wins the race right 😎

Excited for a new year, and one of the things I’m most looking forward to is that I have officially been in the birth business long enough to have some of my first time birth clients coming back for their next baby with two due the first half of this year 😍
Having return clients is the biggest compliment a photographer can receive so I’m super grateful to be working with them again 🥹

Updates on me:
- I’m officially a crazy chicken lady with us now having 6 chicks in the house we’re raising, the kids are loving that! And it’s a little easier doing that now after we lost our doggy last year 😞
- Back into homeschooling this year with my 6yo joining in full time now. I have a new plan and mindset, see how that goes 😝
- I’m still leading our Kids Church ministry which is when I got a bit quieter on here so I could focus on getting my head around that, think I’m getting there now!
- We trialled our first camping trip late last year and went pretty ok, so trying to get one more trip in later this month. We wait until everyone else goes back to school and work!
- I took the plunge and bought myself a new TM7 thermomix about a month ago and loving it, so I’m slowly descending into my ‘hippy Mum’ reputation more and more. Next is that I start wearing floaty housewife dresses, but don’t think that will ever happen, I am just not a dress person 😋

Swipe to see some of the chicks, they’re so cute!

In-door Bump sessions are such a great option during winter!

No need to worry about the weather and making last minute decisions if the session needs postponed or not.

No constant hair in your face from the wind.

Lighting is more consistent so you can have the session at pretty much any time of the day.

Annnnd, you don’t even need to leave your house 🙌🏼 Which if you’re anything like me is a huge bonus 🤣

Plus, look how beautiful the photos can be in the comfort of your own home. Just another option to consider if you feel like getting Bump photos is in the ‘too hard basket’, as this option isn’t 😉

Having a young toddler can be so unpredictable at the best of times, even more so at a photoshoot!

We all have the image in our mind of those beautiful sibling photos where they’re loving on each other, and sometimes that happens, and sometimes it doesn’t.

When I arrived at this lovely families house, I was told that the toddler meeting the newborn had been on the more challenging side with big bro not being super impressed with the new baby.

I got myself ready to get creative now knowing the toddler might give a bit of push back, but he did great! The parents said to me at the end “we expected that to last all of 20 mins with mostly tears”, and it wasn’t that at all, so as I said, always unpredictable 😝

You can see the result of some of my ‘creativeness’ on photo number 7, where we gave the toddler raisins and he was so kind to share one with baby sister 🥴

Welcome to the world baby girl.

Capturing Bumps and Babies for any client is amazing, but with close friends it makes it even more special 🤩

I only met this gorgeous Mummy a few short years ago, but with all that we have in common we (along with the kids) got to know each other so quickly and this gorgeous family are now like family for us too 🥰

They’re all so excited to meet their new baby any day now, and I can’t wait too!

Little Chadrick was born 😍

I met this lovely family when I captured the bump of their first baby girl. So when I got the message they were expecting again it was so nice to be included in their family once more where we got more bump photos (toddler included!) and the birth of their second baby, a little boy 💙

What an incredibly strong couple, both emotionally and physically (the dad is a personal trainer so makes sense) as I watched them work together to bring little Chadrick into the world. The midwives even joked that it was hard to tell by pushing on mums tummy if it was a contraction or not as she had such strong abs 🤣

It’s the biggest compliment being invited back into a families journey with subsequent siblings, and I just love getting to know each family more and more as I do!

(Most photos are cropped as I’m not fancy enough to make those carousel posts haha)

This was a room full of love and support as this family welcomed their second baby/niece/granddaughter 💗

What an incredibly strong Mumma who with her own Mum, Sister, and Partner soldiered through labour despite an epidural that didn’t work. It was so awesome to witness all these lovely family members together, giving support where needed, and in those crucial moments of labour where you feel like you can’t go on, those much needed words of wisdom and encouragement.

Birth is absolutely fascinating.

One of the things you can see during labor is the rounding of the Rhombus of Michaelis (sometimes called the birth triangle). In this photo, it’s that slight bulging in the lower back that the shadows of this very dark room just allow us to see. For some people it’s very distinct, and others a lot more subtle—but it’s a clear sign that the baby’s head is descending and the body is doing exactly what it needs to make space for birth.

This happens as the pelvis shifts and opens, working together with the spine and muscles in an incredible display of how perfectly designed the birthing process is. Positions like leaning forward or being on all fours can encourage this movement, helping the body create more room for the baby to move down.

Witnessing this in action is very cool, along with all the other smaller details that happen. As it’s not just about the big moments but also the subtle, powerful ways the body works to bring a baby earthside 🙌🏼

Can you see it in this photo?? Or is it just because I was there and could see it with my eyes that I can see it in the photo? 😅

Back to it! After a little break from social media in the holidays, the fam and I are getting back into normal routines today, so back into homeschool work with the kids too - I’ve got this 💪🏼🤪

Here’s a cute tiny human I captured showing off the Moro reflex (or startle reflex), which is one of those amazing built-in instincts babies are born with. When they sense a sudden movement/loud noise, or often it seems like ‘just because’, they fling their arms out wide like “What was that?!” before pulling them back in for safety. This reflex is checked as part of the newborn exam after birth since having a strong Moro reflex is a great sign of a healthy nervous system. The more they use it, the faster it starts to fade—usually disappearing by around 3-6 months as their bodies mature.

It always gives me a giggle watching babies do this—except, of course, when it’s my baby and they’re asleep and accidentally startle themselves awake (thanks swaddles!). But it’s such a beautiful reminder of how incredible and complex newborns are, even in these tiny, brand new moments.

I’m so excited to capture more of these cute babies and their incredible families in 2025. Thanks to those who have already invited me to their birth this year, I can’t wait!

Some Fresh 48 goodness for your Sunday night 🥹

I love these sessions as it’s always so nice catching up with the parents that I’ve usually just been at the birth with a day or two before, and re-living all their amazing birth moments is something I love. Seriously if you want to get me chatting, just bring up birth 🤣

This beautiful little boy got jaundice quite early on (jaundice is normal, but usually only from about day 4 onwards, before that it can sometimes indicate something else is going on and bubba might need a bit more help), so he was put under the UV light blanket for a few days, and topped up with donor milk to ensure he was getting enough while also breastfeeding from Mum.

Was so cool to watch these new parents handle it like champs, and having Dad so actively involved in feeding and helping their new baby get his milk top ups with the least stress possible.

Sometimes Fresh 48 sessions are the next best thing for those who aren’t sure if they want the actual birth captured, but want lots of those firsts too 🥰

I’m scheduling in how many births and Fresh 48 sessions I’ll be taking on for next year, so get in touch if you’re due and been thinking about capturing this incredible time.
