Today I spent the entire day at my daughter’s school swim competition.

I got to stand on the sidelines and watch her win three first places.
The pride. The excitement. The little look she gave me each time she checked I was watching.

And the thought that crossed my mind more than once today was this:

Old me would have missed this.

Old me was in a job where annual leave was limited.
Where attending something like this meant asking permission.
Where you had to decide which moments were “important enough” to take time off for.

And if you’re a mum, you know there are so many of those moments.

Today was one of those days that reminded me why I made the changes I did.

Because time freedom isn’t just a nice idea.
It’s being able to show up for the moments that actually matter.

That’s why I’m on a mission to show women who feel the way I once did -trapped, stretched, and stuck in a system that doesn’t leave room for life -that there are other ways to build income and create flexibility.

This week our team is hosting two free online workshops exploring two important conversations.

Workshop 1: Unlock Optimal Hydration + Health
Learn what Electrolysed Reduced Water (Kangen Water) is, why athletes, families and wellness communities are paying attention to it, and how better hydration may support overall wellbeing. We’ll also touch on how gyms, schools and community groups are using it as a fundraising or income opportunity.

Workshop 2: Beyond The Paycheck
A conversation about why more people are building flexible income alongside their jobs and what it can look like to move away from autopilot and create more freedom and choice in life.

Both workshops are completely free.

If you’re curious, comment below and I’ll send you the details.

Comment HEALTH for the hydration workshop.
Comment PAYCHECK for the income workshop.

Sometimes it only takes one conversation to realise there might be another way.

Let’s talk about demand avoidance. (from someone who lives it)

Because I don’t just talk about it.
I live it.

As an ADHD woman, the fastest way to make me not do something…
is to tell me I have to do it.

Even if it’s something I was about to do anyway.

The second it becomes a demand
My nervous system goes: absolutely not.

And yes, this includes:
– replying to messages
– emptying the dishwasher
– doing something I literally want to do
– being told “just be more consistent”

Demand avoidance is threat response to loss of autonomy.

Now add parenting into the mix.

I’m also the mum of an ADHD child who shows demand avoidant behaviours.
And let me tell you…
You learn very quickly that “because I said so” is a losing strategy.

Ask directly?
Refusal.

Rephrase it sideways, turn it into a game, walk away like you don’t care?
Done in 30 seconds.

Same child.
Different nervous system response.

These kids aren’t defiant.
They’re deeply sensitive to control.

And the more we try to dominate them into compliance,
the more resistance we get.

Which honestly makes sense… because adults don’t like being controlled either.

Anyone else out there with a wonderfully spirited child whose demand avoidance will be part of the change makers in our extremely unpredictable future?

Well who can argue with that?

Can I share something that most business owners don't realise until it's already costing them sales?

Research consistently shows that over 55% of first impressions of a brand are driven by visuals alone.

Not your experience.
Not your qualifications.
Not even your messaging.
Your imagery.

In fact, branding psychology research shows that up to 93% of consumers say visual appearance plays a key role in their purchasing decisions.
That's not about looking “pretty”.

That's about trust.

And trust is the currency businesses are built on in 2026.

Another stat worth sitting with:
73% of consumers say they're more likely to buy from a brand that uses high quality, authentic imagery, and Gen Z in particular reports significantly higher trust in brands that use real people over stock or AI visuals.

This matters because we're entering a new era of business.

AI is everywhere.
Templates are everywhere.
Content is everywhere.

But credibility is not.

The brands that are winning aren't the loudest or most polished.
They're the ones that feel real.
Authentic imagery does something strategy alone cannot:
• It shortens the trust timeline
• It positions you as established without you needing to overexplain
• It allows your audience to subconsciously say “yes” before they consciously decide
This is why my clients don't come to me for “a shoot”.
They come because they know their business has evolved and their visuals haven't caught up yet.
Which brings me to next year.

I'm currently fully booked until March 2026, and I've intentionally reduced the number of sessions I'll be offering beyond that to protect creative depth, client experience, and quality.

I'm now quietly opening a very limited number of 2026 sessions, with retainer-only bookings available.

This is for women who know:
• Their brand is entering a new chapter
• Their visuals no longer match the level they're operating at
• They want to future-proof their business with imagery that builds trust, not noise

If you feel that nudge, trust it.
The women building brands that last aren't waiting until things feel perfect.
They're aligning how they look with where they're going.
If you'd like to secure a 2026 session, simply reply to this email with “2026” and I'll send through the details.

P.S. retainers are capped and sessions are limited. Once the remaining 2026 spaces are gone, bookings will close.

Jump on in before 2025 closes for the year 😉

AND have a bloody good Christmas

Ready to level up your brand visuals in 2026 with AUTHENTIC imagery not 🤮 AI imagery.

2025. My word of the year was growth.

And it met me at every edge.

This year stretched me.
Not in a hustle harder way.
But in a this actually matters way.

Empower Her Community grew into something far bigger than one monthly networking meeting.

We expanded to nearly 30 networking hubs across New Zealand, Australia, the UK and more recently the states.
We welcomed over 100 women into our inner circle membership. Www.empowerhercommunity.com

We hosted in person networking events, virtual rooms, accountability calls, expert led masterclasses, and brand and visibility focused workshops.

More importantly, we created rooms where women felt safe to be seen.
Safe to ask for support.
Safe to grow without pretending.

This year also marked a shift into greater visibility and credibility.

We began contributing quarterly articles to The Informed Investor, sharing insights on community led growth, women in business, and building sustainable brands.

And we secured our first three sponsors for 2026, a milestone that signals where Empower Her is heading next.

One of the most grounding moments of the year was being named Runner Up Emerging Woman of the Year at the Women’s Global Business Awards.
Not because of the title, but because it reflected community led growth and women rising together.

And then there was Bali.

Our Empower Her retreat reminded me that success is not just what you build.
It is how you feel while building it.

This year also marked a personal shift.

I began intentionally moving away from a business built on time for money and into aligned, sustainable income streams.

As a woman with ADHD, I know the cost of forcing yourself into systems that were never built for your brain.
That is why I aligned more deeply with Enagic this year.

A 50 year old company rooted in preventative health.
A business model built on structure, community, and long term vision.
One that supports energy, family life, and real freedom.

Everything I built this year comes back to one belief.

We are not meant to do this alone.

Empower Her exists because women thrive in supportive, inclusive, non judgemental rooms.
Where ambition is encouraged and accountability is held with care.

2025 was growth.
2026 is 10x - fewer plates, clearer vision, and bigger impact.

What’s your word of the year?

I missed my son’s talk last week.

Not because I didn’t care.
Not because I didn’t want to be there.
But because ADHD has this sneaky way of tripping you up in layers:
• Forgetting to put it in the diary.
• Not checking the diary.
• Getting distracted in the moment I remembered.
• Working memory… just letting it slide into the void.

By the time I realised, it was too late.

Cue: guilt.
The “I’m a terrible parent” narrative.
The mental slideshow of all the moments I did show up somehow erased by this one miss.

And then the unhelpful but well meaning comment from someone:

“You should have just put it in your diary.”

For a neurotypical brain, that’s a solution.
For mine, it’s like telling a fish, “You should have just climbed the tree.”

The thing is……we could keep marinating in guilt.
Or we could give ourselves grace.

Grace for being human.
Grace for doing our best with the brain we have.
Grace for modelling to our kids that mistakes aren’t the end of the world, they are moments we learn from.

Because what matters most is not a perfect attendance record.
It’s that my son knows he’s loved, believed in, and cheered on every single day.

So here’s to all the parents who missed the talk, forgot the bake sale, or sent the pyjama day note to school a day late.
You’re not failing.
You’re showing your kids that love isn’t measured in perfect logistics, it’s measured in how you show up again and again.

Can I hear your adhd parenting mishaps below pleeeease?

No one warns you how exposed growth feels.

The messy beginnings. The cringe-worthy first attempts. The voice that shakes when you speak up. The reels you delete. The ideas you launch that get… silence.

The sideways glances from people who knew the old you.
The self-doubt that whispers, “Who do you think you are?”

But this is the entry fee. No shortcuts. No VIP pass. Just courage, consistency, and a willingness to look a bit ridiculous while you figure it out.

Because the people who make it?

They’re not braver. Not better. They just didn’t tap out when things got uncomfortable.

Growth demands a little bit of ego death.

Pay it anyway.

How are you going to step out of yoir comfort zone today? :)

UK and AUS buddies! Please share 🙏🏻

We created Empower Her because we believe women grow best in community, not in isolation.

When I moved to a new country, I started with nothing but a desire to build authentic connections with like-minded women in business. I knew that to grow, I needed to surround myself with women who understood the journey, who were ambitious and purpose-driven, and who wanted to support each other to rise.

What started as a single networking hub has grown into a global community with 25 thriving hubs across New Zealand, Australia and the UK, with more launching soon.

Empower Her Community exists to support women to grow their businesses with clarity and confidence while building genuine connections that lead to referrals, collaborations and lasting friendships.

We are not just about business cards and awkward small talk. We are about real conversations, support and celebrating each other’s wins. We are about building a business that aligns with your life and values, while feeling seen and supported every step of the way.

Now, we are seeking vibrant, engaging women in business across the UK and AUS who value community and authentic connections to become hosts in their own local areas.

As a host, you will lead your local Empower Her hub, create a welcoming space for women in business to connect and grow, and build your own visibility as a leader in your community.

If you are ready to be part of a movement that is changing how women grow in business, we would love to hear from you.

Fill in your expression of interest below and be part of our wonderfully vibrant expanding community of women in business doing business differently

ADHD doesn’t always look like being late.

Sometimes it looks like showing up two hours early because the anxiety of being late sends your nervous system into full-blown panic mode.

In my younger years, I was always rushing.

Missed buses, forgotten bags, frantic energy.
I’d leave the house convinced I had everything only to realise halfway there I didn’t have my actual ticket.

In saying that, I luckily checked my passport before I left the driveway this morning
Only to find I’d packed my expired passport.
Classic. (Old me would have gotten the whole way to the airport before realising, so…… progress!)

Now I’ve got strategies in place. Compensatory systems. (Systems I teach my clients)
I prep ahead, I set alarms, I overcompensate—and yes, that means I sometimes show up ridiculously early.
(Shout out to all the cafes I’ve awkwardly waited in, killing time and overthinking life.)

Time blindness + anxiety is real.
And when your brain has been burned by enough chaotic mornings, it overcorrects.

If you relate, you’re not alone.
This is just one flavour of ADHD that no one really talks about.
But it’s valid. It’s exhausting.
And it’s absolutely something we can work around.

ADHD isn’t just about being late.
Sometimes it’s the crippling fear of being late that takes over your day.

AI photos might be getting smarter but they’ll never replace soul.

Yes, I could be biased. I’m a brand photographer, after all.

But here’s my two cents

The whole point of building a personal brand is to build know, like, and trust.

And the fastest way to lose it.

Faking it.

When your audience sees AI-generated images representing you they know.

They can feel the difference.

It’s polished. It’s posed and it’s not personal.

Authenticity is the number one currency in a noisy online world.
We don’t connect with perfection we connect with personality.

A good brand shoot isn’t just about looking good yeah It’s about feeling real.

It’s about capturing that spark in your eye when you talk about your work, The way you move, laugh, and light up, yeah, The quirks that make you you

AI can’t replicate that.
Because AI doesn’t know your energy.
It doesn’t understand nuance.
And it sure as hell can’t make people trust you.

Your brand deserves more than a good filter.
It deserves you.

If you’re ready to create epic brand imagery that captivates your audience, stops the scroll and book more clients let’s chat!

ADHD ladies - we start on 2nd July! (two spots left)

You know that sinking feeling when Sunday night rolls around, and you can’t switch off because the week ahead feels heavy and overwhelming?

You're smart. You're good at your job. But Maybe it’s uninspiringa and all consuming.
You know there is a better way to live but the “how” keeps slipping through your fingers.

And every time you try to start something of your own, your brain throws you into either 37 tabs of ideas or full shutdown mode.

I created something for women exactly like you.

It’s a 3-month beta coaching container, combining what I know as a coach, a woman with ADHD, and a qualified Occupational Therapist with 15years experience supporting people to master their brains.

It’s not a course. It’s not rigid. It’s not more noise.

It’s personal. Holistic. Strategy meets compassion. And it’s built to support the real version of you the one who has dips in energy, random bursts of motivation, and a deep desire to finally build something on her terms.

Here’s how it works:
✔ One private 1:1 session per month (to go deep on what you need)
✔ Two group calls per month (so you feel seen, not alone)
✔ WhatsApp support between sessions, for when your brain is spiralling or stalling and you just need a human, not a Google search

We’ll cover things like:→ Understanding how your brain actually works and why→ How to lift yourself out of a low-motivation spiral→ Dopamine-friendly strategies to feel better fast→ Creating a clear, aligned plan toward income and purpose→ Rewiring the guilt and learning how to give yourself grace→ Managing life, not just business, with a toolkit that fits you

And because this is the first round, I’m offering it at 50% off — just $297/month for 3 months.

There are two of these spots left.

The group starts on July 2nd with you first 1:1 needing to be booked in before then.

If you’ve been waiting for something that feels flexible, supportive, and finally ADHD-aligned. this is it.

Just reply with “I’m curious” and ill send you the info.
