From the time I got my hands on a camera - an old, plastic underwater thing - it’s been a road of not really fitting the ‘photographer’ mould; the artist profiles we studied at school never really looked anything like my work, it seemed as though nothing I was shooting was ever quite ‘thought provoking’ or ‘abstract’ enough, and it wasn’t until I began showing my work to others that I realised it

was a different kind of good. Perhaps I wouldn’t be the one whose work people would look at, and discuss the beauty of the hidden things left to the imagination, but rather the one whose work can be admired for the beauty that is captured and displayed in each shot.

‘Hell is full of good meanings, but heaven is full of good works’
On my photography journey, nothing has become more clear than this proverb. My early work, while wholly original and somewhat creative, was an imitation game, and it hasn’t been until recently that I’ve discovered my own style, rather than constantly trying to recreate the images of others. With this development has come a new sense of purpose, and a renewed passion for an art form I have loved throughout my whole life, and so the time has come to share that passion with the world, not only shooting for my own pleasure, but also at the request of friends and family, and hopefully, an audience that will continue to grow with each passing day.
