There is usually one person in the family who takes most of the photos. The one holding the phone at birthday parties, taking pictures of the children playing, capturing everyone together… and then when you look through your camera roll, you realize there are hundreds of photos of your children and hardly any of you with them.
It’s something I hear from mums quite often. They may not feel particularly comfortable in front of the camera, or they may think they need to lose a little weight first, or wait until their hair looks better, or until life feels a little less chaotic.
But your children are not going to remember whether you thought you looked perfect that day. One day, they are going to want to see you there with them.
You don’t have to love having your photo taken. You just need to be there.
