Holy. Crap. You. Guys! Why am I retiring from weddings again!? That’s how I feel after this whirlwind weekend to Wanaka to celebrate with Larissa & Andrew. I can’t even do it justice in a caption. Their family from far and wide! The colours! The mountains! The smiles! The fact I slept on the drivers seat in my sh*tty rental car for two nights! That I’m currently sitting in wellington airport for 5hrs waiting for a 2nd flight home because I left it so last min to book! Haha. Would I do it all again!? Hell yeah anytime! Such an epic amazinggggg bestest weekend with the bestest people everrrr 🥰

Monday. Oh, Monday what a dayyyyy 🥰🎉⚡️. Mine was spent with Zoe and Michael and their nearest and dearest from all corners of the globe on the beautiful Waiheke Island. I always encourage a good ol’ champagne bottle spray and make it clear it’s perfectly cool to aim in my direction. However, on this occasion, Michael well and truly soaked me down 😂. I mean SOAKED! So much so, that the photos later in this sequence are basically unusable due to how much sticky wine was covering my lenses, glasses and whole entire body haha. Totally worth it! The best of times! I’ve narrowly avoided a full mental breakdown this week with all the busy… and we’re staying of top of things….for now. Off to Wanaka later this week to continue the wedding mayhem and I’m 100% here for ittttt 🤘🏼hope y’all are having an epic week out there too xoxoxo

I need your help! Seriously! Legit question for you. Comment below. Here’s a photo of me drinking vodka from a water pistol in the Scottish Isles. That’s my work. Also one of me standing next to Formula 1 legend Daniel Ricciardo. Just another casual day at work 🤷‍♂️…Weddings are all I’ve ever known. I’ve never had a grown up person job! Ever! As I begin this transition to responsible adulthood, I need your help. WHAT THE HECK do I do next? Anyone know anyone who could use my skills? How do we even apply for a proper job? I mean, this IG page is basically my entire CV 😂. I’ve become super isolated and alone working on my own for the past decade. Completely alone! If I’ve met you along the way, and you know my character and awesomeness….im 100% open and listening and need halpppp 🙏. Want to employ me? Know someone who might!? All I want is to grow older in a more orderly and sustained fashion with a reliable and steady income 🥰….apply myself in new ways. To new things. And finally maybe have a workmate or two :))

Omg. You guys! Where do I even start!? I mean, I knew Becky & Seang’s wedding was gonna be a wild one but I had NO IDEA what I was in for 😂. It was honestly the most spectacular and love filled celebration and I’m just genuinely so stoked that you guys trusted me to come along and try do document it all 🥰….just the teeniest peek of what went down. We may have simultaneously broken my most guests ever at a wedding and most shots taken at a wedding records in one day 😅🎉⚡️🔥🤘🏼🤯

I don’t even know how to word this post. How to do it justice. Or even fit into a teeny IG caption. After 16 years of fulltime-world-travelling-professional-wedding-partying-ness… The time has come for me to hang up my trusty brown leather camera strap. I’ve officially taken my final booking for 24/25. I can’t even begin to express how grateful and indebted I am to each and every one of you. For the support. The friendships. Your trust in me. Welcoming me in and having me document such a significant life event amongst your nearest and dearest. I’ve spent my entire adult life as a perpetual wedding guest and that’s like some kind of ridiculous alternate dream! Someone slap me!! I’ve had the BEST timess and never fear….I’ve got MANY more epic weddings ahead. We are 100% going out with a major BANG! This is the weirdest industry to ‘retire’ from as we book so far in advance…I’m still fully booked through summer 2024/25 and I’m looking forward to celebrating with all y’all upcoming couples more than EVERRRR. You can bet your ass we will be going out in a blaze of awesomeness!… more creative, enthusiastic and stoked than ever! I’m 40, you guys! I just turned fricken forty! I’ve been barely making ends meet for my entire adult life. It’s time for me to (attempt to) transition to a life a little more stable and suitable to growing old (I have no idea wtf I’ll do post weddings!😂 any ideas!?). Maybe save a little money. Pay off the old tax debts and camera loans and credit cards🤷‍♂️…..maybeee even get married one day myself!? haha. Oh wait, baby steps…at least try put myself out there and get a little courage to maybe one day even talk to a cute girl again😅….I’m sad. Like I can feel my little tear ducts working you guysss! Making this decision was the hardest! So freaking hard. But you’ve all given me a lifetimes supply of fun times and good memories I get to hang onto foreverrrrrr. Love you all and THANKYOU 🥰 ….captain Alex 🎉🤘🏼⚓️
