Auckland Photo Day is nearly here!

Photograph your vision of the City during 24 hours and be in to win fantastic prizes from Fujifilm

The Auckland Festival’s Photo Day is taking place between midday on Friday June 6 and midday on Saturday June 7 and we have a magnificent selection of prizes on offer courtesy of Fujifilm.

The competition is open to anyone (and we mean anyone!), amateur, professional, or complete newbies to photography. All you need to do is photograph Auckland during a 24 hour period and share your perspectives of our region.
We want to see the fascination in the everyday, what is surprisingly different and what is comfortingly familiar. This event celebrates the many individual pockets of culture and identity present in New Zealand's biggest city by building cultural currency.

At the same time, visit both our Festival Headquarters at Silo 6 as well as our friends Fujifilm’s Public Open Day (Friday 6 June, from 10am - 5pm at The Annex, on 10 Madden, Wynyard Quarter).

A Spectacular Showcase: The NZ Warbirds On Parade
If you’re an aviation enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of flight, the NZ Warbirds On Parade 2025 was a breathtaking showcase featuring a collection of aircraft that have played significant roles in aviation history.

Highlights of the Event

This year’s display was nothing short of spectacular! Here are a few highlights that made the event memorable: The airshow featured exhilarating aerial maneuvers performed by skilled pilots flying these iconic planes as well as displays from the NZ Emergency Services. The roar of the engines the grace of these aircraft in the sky left attendees in awe. Attendees had the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the most revered warbirds in aviation history. Walking through rows of meticulously restored aircraft, you could almost hear the stories they had to tell.

We get some beautiful sunsets at this time of year but I do love a crisp misty morning in Clevedon. 😀even better with some horses in the scene. This was the first image I had ever submitted into a competition and received a silver medal for my efforts.

Before and after. A few hours have gone into this so I hope it was worth it. Not Ai. The landscape part of the image was created from 4 different landscapes or part of and then after painfully cutting out the horse and rider placed in the landscape.
