I headed out for the first time since the The Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show. and made a few observations. I was fishing close to Bream Head in 30 metres . The water temp was still pretty high at 18.5 c and there was a lot of red Bloom in the water. The fishing was good with plenty of good quality snapper in the 45 - 70 cm size. They were aggressively taking a 5” Rapala Crush City jerk about 5 metres off the bottom. The colour was an orange and yellow solar flare(A colour that has been working great lately )with a 1/4 oz jig head so slow sinking. I added a smear of Pro-Cure Bait Scents butt juice. Conclusion plenty of good fishing still to be had . Fish are moving a little deeper and feeding hard.Total fishing time 1 hour.10 casts, equalling 4 quality fish two released.
