Detail shots are my fave! …here’s a funny story about this detail shot…Although Im usually organised, Im a human so I forget things sometimes…when I went to photograph this small home engagement party, I had forgotten my styling board..so I asked the bride’s mother for a piece of fabric I could use instead…bless her, she gave me a white fitted sheet! 🤣 I had to work with what I had so I asked her for an iron..quickly folded a corner of it nicely, ironed it and made it work!!…This was the result. 🤩👌✨

The true test for creativity is the lack of tools lol ..in all seriousness though I take pride in knowing that im comfortable enough in my craft to make the best out of every situation! 🤍🥰

When photographing little ones with their family my approach is to give the kids some space during the session where they just do their own thing and not worry about posing or looking right at the camera or smiling..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I like to capture them in their own element while they’re creating real memories and having genuine interactions with their parents or siblings..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is when I just step back and capture their personalities as they unfold without the pressure to “look good” in the photo!

Here’s the deal!

I want to raise money to donate to our dear brothers and sisters in Gaza.

I am offering mini sessions for $200 on 27th August (Auckland botanic Gardens) and 28th of August (Eastern Beach) | 20 minutes | Up to 15 images with the option of purchasing extra images at a small additional price. (Suitable for up to 5 individuals per session)

One partner is leaning on to the other partner in this photo, which one of them do you think is leaning on to the other?

Here’s what I think…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
‎سَنَدْ (Sanad) In Arabic translates to “Support”
In the way that something can be strong and steady enough to carry heavy loads or stop something from leaning over and falling.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Like the poles that support the foundation of a home for example.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At first glance you’ll see that Sumaiya is the one leaning on to Javed. But if you look longer at the photo you’ll noticr that Javed is also leaning on to his wife.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Both of them are eachother’s سَنَدْ 🤍
And I think that’s very beautiful Masha’Allah.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s the way things should be in a marriage; Each partner provides support and steadiness in their own way and that reflects on what kind of relationship is built between them and the environment that is fostered within their home.

When I’m photographing weddings I’m often in a world of my own, busy watching the couple’s day unfold and paying attention to the timeless, meaningful moments like this one…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You see this as just a photo of someone’s hands.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But to me this photo is alot more than that. It’s the hands of a mother handing her first born daughter her wedding rings to exchange with her new husband.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These hands cared for this bride for years until she is now a woman who is ready to start a family of her own.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I love capturing these moments. These short, little moments that get drowned out by the sound of the music or the loud voices of the people celebrating the new couple..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I believe these moments deserve to be captured forever for the bride and groom to look back on.
