10 years ago I photographed this beautiful couple’s wedding, and it honestly feels so special to now be photographing them again as they prepare to welcome their little one.

We headed back to this beautiful spot in Whangamatā for their maternity session, and I absolutely loved that we got to create these memories in the same place, just in a completely different chapter of their lives.

There’s something pretty special about having clients come back and trusting me to capture these milestones for them. 🤍 The most beautiful whānau!

🏆 A little awards update 🏆

This year I entered some of my work into NZIPP and the Australian Photographic Prize (APP).

And honestly, it was bloody hard 😂

The judging was tough. Like REALLY tough.
But I am actually really proud of myself for doing it.

I entered NZIPP and came away with 4 Bronze Awards 🥉🥉🥉🥉 and one Silver with Distinction.
Then I entered 6 images into APP and received 6 Highly Commended.

Considering how hard the judging was, and how many amazing photographers enter these competitions, I honestly couldn't be happier with that.

I didn't enter because I thought I was going to win everything. I entered because I wanted to challenge myself, see where my work sat, learn and hopefully get better.

Was it hard on the ego sometimes? Absolutely 😂
Did I question some of the scores? 100%
Would I do it again? Probably 😂
But that's how we grow. You can't improve if you never put yourself out there.

So I'm going to take the wins, take the lessons, take the criticism and keep creating.

A massive thank you to everyone who supports me and my little business. Every booking, every share, every comment and every bit of encouragement means more than you probably realise. Also thanks to my amazing couples featured this year, I wouldn't be able to enter awards without you! (facebook wont let me tag you).

Here's to getting better, creating cool s**t and seeing where the 2026/2027 photography journey takes me next. ❤️📷

✨ MODEL CALL — THREE GENERATIONS ✨

I'm looking for THREE GENERATIONS OF WOMEN from the same family to help me create something a little different.

A grandmother, mother and daughter who share strong family resemblance, the kind where people say “you can definitely see the genetics!”

I'm working on a new conceptual photography project exploring women, identity, motherhood, ageing and the way our features are passed down through generations.

The vision is artistic, cinematic and a little surreal.

This won't be a traditional family portrait.

I'm looking for three women with noticeably similar features. You don't need to be models, personality and resemblance are far more important.

👗 Styling and creative direction will be discussed with the chosen family
🖤 Images will be created for my artistic portfolio and photographic awards/competitions.

Awards season has come to an end, and as always, it's left me with plenty to reflect on.

This year I entered both APP and the NZIPP Iris Awards. Like every photographer who enters, I poured my heart into selecting images that represented not only my work, but the stories behind them.

Awards can be an emotional rollercoaster, and while the results aren't always what we hope for, they've reminded me that creativity can't be measured by a single score. 2026 I end my awards season with 4 bronzes and 1 Silver with Distinction.

What I'll take away from this season isn't the judging, it's the growth.

The biggest highlight for me was sharing the journey alongside three incredible photographers who became so much more than peers. We spent months encouraging one another, offering honest feedback, celebrating the wins, and lifting each other through the disappointments. Somewhere along the way, photography brought us together, but friendship is what we'll take away from it. I'm so grateful for each of you. This year I also pushed myself creatively by stepping into documentary photography with a story that was incredibly close to my heart. It reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place, not because of awards, but because of the power. Images can tell a story, create emotion, and preserve moments that truly matter.

If this season has taught me anything, it's to keep creating, keep growing, keep taking risks, and never let one person's opinion define your journey.

Very exciting!

All 6 of my entries made top 30 in the Creative Wedding category at APP Australian Photographic Prize.

My first year entering, long time watcher. I love award season! It helps me grow as a creative and create top of the line work as I strive to capture moments and turn them into art.
