Home isn't always four walls.

Sometimes it's muddy boots, tiny hands reaching for yours, uncontrollable laughter, stolen kisses, kids running wild, and the quiet comfort of knowing you're exactly where you're meant to be.

I spent the afternoon with Gabby and her beautiful little family, and that's exactly what it felt like. So much love. So much laughter. The kind that fills the whole paddock and stays with you long after you've left.

We also celebrated their little man's first birthday with a steak & cake smash... and trust me, those photos are coming. They're ridiculously cute. πŸ₯ΉπŸ€

The number 1 question I get when it comes to a full session... "How many photos do we get?" πŸ˜‚

Honestly? I have no idea.

I don't count photos, and I don't stop editing once I hit a certain number.

Every session is different, and every gallery is too. If it's a beautiful image that helps tell your story, it'll be in your gallery.

I'd rather deliver a full gallery than leave out photos just to stick to a number.

When you book a full session with me, you're not paying for a set amount of images.

You're investing in the memories, the experience, and a gallery that captures your story from beginning to end.

So the answer is... as many as your session gives us. 🀍

Every year I'd watch these awards online and be blown away by the creativity from other photographers. Like... wow. 😍

This year I decided, "f**k it, let's do it."

So I've entered these three images into the Wedding Category at the NZ Professional Photography Awards (IRIS Awards) πŸ’βœ¨

I don't expect much from it, but getting the experience of entering, putting my work out there, and then watching my images being judged live?
Yep. I'm absolutely here for that.

These two chose a beautiful day at Waimārama Beach, plenty of sunshine, and a whole lot of love. Safe to say it was an absolute dream to capture. ✨

The beach absolutely showed off for us the other weekend 😍
The air was crisp, the light was beautiful, and this family was SO much fun to hang out with.

From cuddles with Mum and Dad, to everyone running around the beach pretending to be aeroplanes and chasing each other, these guys fully embraced the chaos and the fun πŸ₯Ή

And honestly, that's exactly what I love!

Quick tip from your fave family photographer (who also has 3 boys under 6 πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ) β€” please don't stress if your kids don't "behave" during your session.

I don't want them sitting perfectly still and smiling at me the whole time anyway.

I want them to be kids.

I want the running, the games, the cuddles, the laughter and all those little in-between moments that actually tell your family's story.

Bring the bribery snacks. Bring the favourite toy. Bring the comfort teddy if you need to.

But seriously, don't sweat it.

I've got three boys of my own, so I know how to roll with whatever mood your little ones bring on the day πŸ˜‚

The best photos happen when everyone relaxes, joins in, and just has fun together 🀍
