Yesterday my baby turned 7 months old. So I took him to the park, wrapped him up warm, and snapped a few photos among the falling leaves — his very first autumn.

He had no idea what was going on — just a bunch of crunchy leaves, cool breeze, and Mum always covering her face and running around with her camera.

But it was his first autumn so I had to make it special.

I’ve captured so many beautiful moments of families with little ones — giggles, cuddles, tiny toes. But you know what I rarely get to see? Families with teens.

Maybe it’s because life feels busier. Maybe teens aren’t as keen to be in front of the camera. But here’s the thing: these years matter just as much.

Teenage years are full of quiet strength, big dreams, and fast changes. One moment they're kids, the next they're almost grown.

If you've got a teenager, bring them into the frame. Your teenager might not ask for photos — but one day, you’ll both be grateful you have them.

My husband came to Aotearoa chasing a PhD.
And I followed him with love.

A few years (and many flat whites) later, he’s now officially a Doctor—not the kind who writes prescriptions, but the kind who wrote a thesis thicker than our baby’s photo album :))

This photo was taken on his graduation day last year. But today, looking back, I’m still filled with pride.

If you’ve had a session with MinChon Photography, you’ve probably seen him: my behind-the-scenes hero.
Holding your jackets, making your kids laugh, being the best unpaid assistant ever. He’s been there for me, every step of the way.

Today, it’s his turn to be in the spotlight.
No props. No gear. Just him, in a gown and cap, looking proud, at our home (and slightly awkward, of course).

“Why are your package prices such random numbers?”
The truth is… they’re not random at all.

Each of my four packages is based on a family member’s birthday 🎂

So no, I didn’t sit down with a calculator.
I sat down with a cup of tea and my family calendar.
Much more fun that way.

💛 The lowest price? That’s me 🥲
💛 And the most expensive one? That’s my husband. (The man’s got expensive taste and an even pricier birthdate 😂)

But I wish he was born on 31 Dec tho—
Could’ve charged $2 more 😆

So nah, they’re not tidy little numbers.
But they mean something to me.
