Apologies everyone for being MIA on social media for the last few months. Holidays, work, and now a thing called Covid-19 have all got in the way of normal transmission!

Its amazing how things can change in just a few short months. When I last posted months ago the world was only just starting to hear news from China about a thing called Covid-19. Roll forward a few months and now the whole planet is facing a global pandemic. Lock downs have become the new norm, and we are learning a new lexicon of terms like flattening the curve, social distancing, and PPE’s (personal protective equipment).

Living in New Zealand I feel very fortunate that our government has taken pre emptive action to try and control the outbreak of Covid-19 here, which is starting to show results. On a daily basis I read with sadness and disbelief what is happening to many overseas countries and their people. At some point in the future when this pandemic is finally over, I hope the world will be able to get back to some sort of normalcy. But also that important lessons will have been learned and the world will be a better place for everyone.

Now on to the food! Todays recipe is for Green Pancakes with your favourite toppings, from Jen Pomeroy at The Modern Mess. The toppings can be anything you have in the fridge or pantry, and its fantastic for getting the kids involved in the kitchen. Plus it definitely supplies your 5+ a day of vegetables all in one go.

Enjoy!

Well here we are on the last day of 2019, & in fact the last day of the decade. So I thought I would share some of my favourite images from 2019. This year I've had the opportunity to work on some fantastic projects with fabulously talented people. A big thank you to all my clients for a very successful 2019. Looking forward to what 2020 will bring, and can't wait to kick off some exciting projects in late January.
Happy new year everyone 🍾🥂

At last we’ve finally made it to Day 1 of my Christmas Countdown! And for the pièce de résistance I’ve made a Watermelon & Citrus Punch for the big day. Living in the southern hemisphere, a summery Chrismas isn’t the same without lots of fresh fruit to eat and drink. Plus this punch can be served with or without the Vodka, if the kids want to have a taste. Equally good either way.

Well this is my last day posting for awhile, so I just wanted to say thanks for following along on my Christmas Countdown - it’s been a blast. I also wanted to say a big thank you to all my clients who made 2019 an epic year for my business. Looking forward to doing some more fantastic work in 2020.

Enjoy your Christmas break - and from me it’s over and out for 2019!

On Day 2 of my Christmas Countdown and we have a very chilled Mango & Coconut Daiquiri for you all to test drive. One of these is never enough, and if you’re like me trying to wrangle your Christmas To Do list a little Daiquiri definitely helps the process!

The big day is only three days away, and I'm getting into Christmas mode by sitting outside with a rather tasty Peach & Elderflower Cooler from my Christmas Countdown. Peaches are a favourite of mine and they’re fantastic cooked in savoury or sweet dishes, and of course perfect for drinks!

We’re definitely getting into the holiday spirit on Day 4 of my christmas countdown with a recipe for Sparkling Rose with Cherry Granita. I can never say “no” to a glass of champagne or sparkling wine, and this one with the addition of a cherry granita is bellissimo! Christmas prep is stressful don’t ya know - I need a couple of these to make it to Christmas Day in one piece.

Day 5 of my christmas countdown is really getting into the Christmas spirit with a Harvest Apple Spritz. I love cocktail recipes like this where you can pre-prepare everything, and just throw it all in a jug ready to serve.

I’ve been doing a fair bit of quality taste testing this week just to make sure all the cocktails are as good as they look. Should probably think about a dry week or two after the holidays to recover!

Day 6 of my christmas countdown is for all those lemonade fanatics out there, with a fragrant Lavender Basil Lemonade. Being non alcoholic this recipe is perfect for the whole family, and hits the sweet spot on a hot summers day. You can play around with the quantities of lemon juice, lavender, basil and honey to find the combination you like. Some people like it tart, others a bit sweeter, or more fragrant with additional lavender and basil.

Day 7 of my christmas countdown is a recipe for a Strawberry Pomegranate Cocktail - talk about looking like Christmas in a Glass!

Such a simple recipe with only a few ingredients, but maximum impact for a Christmas tipple.

Day 8 of my christmas countdown is a bit healthier with this bright green Cucumber Elderflower Spritzer. The colour is fabulous and could almost be Kermit the Frog inspired!

It’s very refreshing on a hot summer’s day, and you can make it non alcoholic by replacing the wine with soda or tonic.

Enjoy!

Well here we are for Day 9 of my Christmas Countdown. Today’s drink recipe is a Spiced Apple Cocktail, just the treat as a pre dinner aperitif.

The mix of juniper and star anise gives this cocktail a spicy hit, along with the alcohol of course. One is definitely enough. Two is downright dangerous!

Apologies for the extended radio silence on the blog recently, work & life has been getting in the way of my personal work and blog. But I’m back now ready to rock n roll in the lead up to Christmas.

For everyone out there in blog land who are keen to partake of some Christmas cheer, I’m here to help. Repeating last year’s 10 day Christmas Countdown I’ve decide to put together a few of my favourite cocktail recipes in the run up to Christmas. So starting today at Day 10 we have a Blackberry Plum Margarita. Beautiful colour and the perfect tipple for those unexpected visitors.

Enjoy!
