There are some collections that feel like more than simply turning up and making beautiful photographs, and Phoenix was definitely one of them.

Knowing what this collection represented, I wanted the photography to carry that same sense of transformation, something emerging, shifting and rebuilding. The reds and coppers, the black feathered styling, the cool movement and those little bits of flame became part of creating a world around the hair rather than simply photographing it.

I really loved adding the fire into the clothing, as though the fabric was beginning to burn away. It felt like such a perfect visual for a Phoenix, destruction and transformation happening at the same time, with something new beginning to emerge from it.

I’ve had this quiet creative desire to photograph the idea of a Phoenix rising from the ashes, that sense of losing an old version of yourself and slowly becoming something entirely different. So when Liana at Zen Hair shared her vision for this collection, it immediately connected with something I’d already been carrying creatively for a long time. Her concept gave me the perfect space to lean right into it.

The ghosted movement in the images became part of that too. To me, those blurred figures feel almost like echoes of what came before; still present, but fading behind something stronger and newly formed.

My job was to take everything Liana had poured into Phoenix and translate it visually, while still allowing her incredible hair work to remain the hero. Creative shoots like this are always a collaboration, but they’re also built on trust; being given the freedom to interpret someone else’s idea, add my own creative layer and watch the whole thing come together is one of my favourite parts of what I do.

Knowing the story behind Phoenix makes seeing Liana's images named as finalists even sweeter.

This one has soul. 🖤🔥

I photographed Anita and William's wedding earlier this year. It's amazing what 2 people in love can accomplish in a few weeks - like put together a fantastic wedding day. From the little gifts for her bridesmaids to the South African flowers featured, Anita and William thought of everything. A day filled with kindness, love and celebration. When we had a planning call I had suggested that we go to Smaills beach for photos. They loved the idea because they got engaged there but upon our arrival there we were greeted by a very large sea lion on the entry track. EEkkkk. We backed away and it followed us! We were almost at a run back to the car and it was still following us. 😂Me with 2 heavy cameras and a bag and poor Anita with her beautiful dress high-tailing it back down the track being chased by a sealion. Luckily we had William to assist with the dress. Anyway, the backup location of Tomahawk made for a gorgeous evening relaxed vibe. As always, I was spoiled for locations and we photographed until dark. I left the day feeling so filled with joy.

There’s something about photographing my way around the world that feels deeply soul-lifting.

These days, travel feels like more than simply visiting new places. It feels like freedom. Like being able to breathe more deeply, follow my curiosity and move through the world without my body constantly bracing for what might happen next.

With my camera beside me, I feel completely present. I notice the light, the textures, the quiet corners, the unfamiliar streets and all the small details that make a place feel alive. Photography gives me permission to slow down and simply experience what is in front of me.

There is something powerful about realising that life can feel expansive, peaceful and exciting all at once. That your nervous system can soften. That joy can return. That you can feel fully alive again.

These photos are a little collection of my camera travelling the world with me. It's a reminder of how far I’ve come, in every sense.

Rococo Reverie is a beautifully imaginative hairdressing competition collection created by Kylie Hayes of MoHa.

This collection began with the idea of weary theatrical performers and gradually evolved into something much more dreamlike, romantic and fantastical. Every hairstyle has its own personality, from delicate sculpted loops and pearls to bold shapes, soft texture and unexpected colour.

I loved photographing this series and helping bring Kylie’s vision to life through the styling, lighting and layered, slightly surreal atmosphere. It was one of those creative collaborations where every detail mattered; the hair, makeup, clothing, poses and set all working together to create a strange and elegant little world of its own.
Models: Brooke, Poppy, Jeila, Jayda
Makeup, Styling, Hair: Kylie Hayes

There’s something so special about photographing the love within a family. It's the big hugs, shared laughter and little moments that happen naturally when people feel completely at ease together.

This session was full of joy, with beautiful connections across the generations. These are the kinds of photographs that become more precious as time goes on, not because everyone is perfectly posed, but because they capture the way a family truly feels when they’re together. So much love in these moments.

Sonja and Dave’s wedding was such a brilliant day to photograph. It was full of colour, laughter, happy tears and so much personality. From the bold street art around Dunedin to the autumn-toned flowers and their confetti-filled ceremony exit, every part of the day felt relaxed, joyful and completely their vibe.

My approach to wedding photography is always to give a little guidance when it’s needed, while leaving plenty of space for the real moments to unfold. I want couples to feel comfortable rather than overly posed, so we can create some beautiful, polished portraits alongside all the candid expressions, unexpected laughter and emotional moments that make the day unique.

Sonja and Dave made that incredibly easy. They were so natural together, and there was never a shortage of laughter between them. I loved being able to capture the big moments, but also the quieter glances, family connections and little bursts of fun happening in between. Those are often the photographs that bring the whole story of a wedding day back to life.

I recently spent some time in Sydney and couldn’t resist photographing the iconic Opera House from a few different angles.

Her sweeping shapes are every bit as majestic in person, but up close you can also see the weathering, marks and signs of age. I loved that contrast. I also loved the grandeur of such a famous building alongside the little imperfections that reveal how long she has stood beside the harbour.

Such a fun branding shoot with voice actor Kennady Ray! Her vibrant personality, incredible pink hair and expressive energy made this session an absolute joy to photograph. We created a mix of polished portraits and playful, personality-filled images that feel completely her. The composition of these were intentional to allow for cropping and banner looks for adding text.

Flossy in the studio 🤍

Photographing children for modelling and talent submissions isn’t really about “the shot” at all. It’s about creating a space where they can relax, settle, and be themselves: no pressure, no performing.

This session was gentle and unhurried. We chatted, took breaks, and let things unfold naturally. The expressions that come through when kids feel comfortable are always the ones that matter most, calm, confident, and quietly themselves.

If you’re thinking about agency submissions for your child, these are the kinds of images that come from slowing things down and letting them lead.
