There are certain occasions that families come together, all dressed up and looking fab - weddings, a significant grandparent birthday and graduations!

Everybody thinks about the portraits of the graduate by themselves, but actually, it's the portraits with family that I love the most.

Parents and grandparents are so proud, as they should be - it takes determination, hard work and perseverance (not to mention significant investment) to complete a degree.

I love to be a small part of this special day for families and even more so when they tell me they really enjoyed the experience and that it added to their happy memories of the day.

Studio or outdoors - what would you choose for your headshot?

The setting you choose for your headshots will influence the feel of the final portraits, so it's important to give it some thought.

Outdoor locations can add to that natural, friendly and approachable vibe.

While studio portraits give a highly professional feel. They're also great for creating a strong connection as they give such amazing light in the eyes with beautiful catchlights.

Quite stoked to get such a big spread in the Listener (and such a prominent byline for my photo).

It was a fascinating read about the remains of thousands of people - illegally and unethically collected as part of the historic bone trade - which are still held in museums and universities around the world.

Working out who they were, where they came from and how to get them home is a colossal job - but one that Professor Siân Halcrow will be helping out with as part of a four-year research project aptly named 'Skeletons in the Closet'.

It was a challenging space to photograph in, as we had to be very careful to ensure that no human remains were in any of our photographs.

But both of us were very happy with the final result.

Never been so glad as the day I bought a pair of knee pads!

Because to get the best expressions out of kids you don't just stand there and tell them to smile.

You've got to interact and play with them.

And that means being down at their level - on your knees!
