My beautiful niece turned one and I got to be the aunty and the photographer for her cake smash 🩷

It was her first time ever having cake (or anything that sugary) and she absolutely went for it! face straight in, no hesitation 😭🍰

I swear I’m not being biased when I say she’s the actual cutest thing on this earth… but also, maybe I am 😅💖

Yesterday I had the absolute privilege of capturing the re-opening of Hīna! my sister Sarah’s beautiful new space where she creates taonga tuku iho, forever art, on the body.

She shares this sacred space with the incredible Karaitiana, who offers healing through traditional mirimiri. Watching both of these wāhine in their element was nothing short of magic.

One of the most moving moments for me was when Karaitiana used her voice as part of her mirimiri, it didn’t just resonate in the room, it spoke through me. I felt every vibration in my wairua. It was powerful. It was healing.

I’m deep in my own journey of healing and growth, so to witness and work alongside these mana wāhine filled my cup in ways I can’t quite put into words.

Guess where I’m booking in next… 🙏🏽✨
