Raglan would have to be one of the most scenic corners of NZ, and with the WSL rolling into town I took a dig into the archives. I’ve been lucky enough to spend a bit of time there and always tried to grab a shots of the area in between shooting surf. Some of these shots were licensed to the WSL and appear throughout the event broadcast, plus a handful of waves from the crew tearing the place to pieces. Stoked to see an event of international calibre being run there - Manu Bay is a great setup

First signs of Cyclone Vaianu this morning with a building swell pouring in towards the southern end of Wainui.

The swell is predicted to continue building, peaking at around 4.5 metres from 3pm onwards. Swell direction is from the northeast with a 10 second period, and is forecast to be closer to 8.5 metres 50km offshore. This is likely to coincide with 35-45 knot onshore winds.
