A very sweet vision is brewing and we’re on the look out for a newly engaged couple who vibes with our moodboard, to help us bring this idea to life!

E&J really did their day their way— low key, few posed shots and more time with family and friends.

I remember when Emilie and I first spoke on the phone and something she said to me really landed. They couldn’t imagine themselves in any of the photos they’d seen from other photographers. I’d just been working on our business strategy, and hearing the words from a bride herself, it clicked with me who it was that we were attracting. And it was so validating.

Hiring a wedding photographer felt nerve-wracking because it felt like there was this expectation for posed shots and a Vogue-cover look. That didn’t feel like them, especially for Jimmy who isn’t too keen on being in front of the camera. They wanted to actually recognise themselves when they looked at their photos. They wanted to be present in their day and not spend time curating something that wouldn’t truly reflect who they were.

While we absolutely love playing with new ideas, guiding our couples and curating images when desired. This isn’t for everyone, and we never want it to be the focus of your day.

I’m actually so grateful for the conversation we had that day. It was a humbling realisation that sharing our most styled and curated work might actually be excluding some of our dream clients.
