Last night awesome aurora show was beyond spectular. Colours changed all the time. The lake was on fire! Even though it was clouded in at the south end of the lake it rose way above and the clouds added another dimention. Happy Mothers Day Mother Nature!

8 years ago……..

A sad day in the community as our local high school goes up in flames...By the looks of it the staff room , admin block and hall are just about gutted. Huge shout out to the boys and girls who braved todays tempatures, and those who put on the breathing aparatis and heavy suits to go inside the building. Anderson Helecopters arrived with the monsoon bucket and is still hovering as far as I can hear. Brigades from Ross Hokitika Kumara and Greymouth attended....fire engines golore!!!!
