So excited to introduce Snoopy! He's a 14 month old Huntaway (with a touch of lab) who started life as a farm dog but decided it just wasn't for him. He much preferred being by the farmer's side than chasing sheep around paddocks. He also doesn't bark much so wasn't very good at bossing the sheep around. He's such a chill dog with an amazing personality so the farmer thought he'd make a great pet and that's how he found me. I couldn't be happier! He's so loyal, smart and a great companion!
This photo was taken in the Catlins Rain Forrest not far from Invercargill where I'm now based. Unfortunately there was a swing bridge right at the start of the track (as there often is) and he wasn't having a bar of it. He wasn't keen to swim across and I was certainly not keen to carry him across. So with A LOT of patience, reassurance and praise we slowly inched our way across the bridge together. Talk about a bonding experience!! So proud of him! He was rewarded for his effort by endless lush rain forest to explore. In his element he hurtled and crashed through the bush, tail wagging, enjoying all the new smells. He finally tired just enough to allow me to get a few shots of him to remember this exciting day.
I've only had Snoop a few weeks now, but he's settling into his new life well, enjoying being an 'inside' dog and learning basic commands quickly. I can't wait to get out on some more adventures together and you'll certainly see much more of Snoop in the future. I don't think he knew he was signing up to be a model, but he enjoys the attention and makes a great model don't you think (my biased opinion)?
This also marks the start of a new chapter for Pawfessional Photography as I branch out to combine my love of landscape photography with pet photography and offer stunning photos of dogs in nature as well as studio portraits. Looking forward to meeting more of you in future!
